Ok, this explains a lot. I thought this movie was a waste of time as well. Its obvious my tastes don't coincide with anyone here. /shrug

Well shoot, Den. You don't HAVE to like what some of us like, that's cool. No one's jumping you about it, we just joke. It's just, sometimes you seem condescending about it. Like we're idiots for liking something you found a waste of time. /shrug

Then I apologize to those who felt that way, as it was never my intention of sounding condescending. I completely understand we're only talking opinions here, and no one has a right or wrong one...just differing.

I don't care if anyone agrees with me or not, and certainly would never expect EVERYONE to. I am often curious though, and do try to figure out how I can be so out of the loop on things like this. A lot of the time I can chalk some of the differences up to age, or lifestyles, etc. However, my mom, my daughter, and I all sat and watched District 9 yesterday, and both my mom and daughter wanted to leave about 15 minutes into the movie. I only wanted to stay to see how it ended. So age wasn't a factor this time...

That's cool and again I understand that. I guess what bothers me is that - I'll sit and write out my feelings as to why something was good (or bad). Feel free to explain why you do or do not like something. Honestly, I'd like to know - not to argue the point into the ground or change your mind, but to know what someone else thought of the movie in question.

So given that I don't have a lot of time to go to the movies - I am better off seeing this or GI Joe in the theatre? I'd probably get the other later on Netflix - who knows I may splurge though.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the plot, but it was something I noticed. In the credits, some of the women were listed as "Nigerian Hookers." Why was it necessary to point out that they were Nigerian? They were the only hookers in the movie. Why not just credit them as hookers or prostitutes?

Just watched this. What the fuck did I just watch. I honestly didn't see the point. We netflixed it, and it feels like a waste of waiting 4 days for something else to come. Others here liked it obvious, so it looks like people either really like it or really don't like it - I haven't seen too many mixed reviews.
