Hair and Poser
Okay! I know I've got to be doing something wrong, but I can't really find any info on it.
What hair does/doesn't work with poser?
I've installed all my hair in Daz to the Hair folder, both the Hair and the Mat files. Works just peachy in Daz! I then go to poser and only about half shows up and none of the mat files work.
I then moved my hair folder to the Character folder. Same thing, only most of the hair shows up, but no mat files.
My guess is that only half work in poser, need to be under the character folder and also in the pose? I just prettified my daz, damnit! lol
Any help or even some pointers on where to look at this junks would be great!

I've only just got V4 to work in Poser lol. Haven't even looked at the other daz files yet. But assuming they all work the same (which I don't know) just install them in the main Poser folder and they seem to go where they're meant to be themselves. Thats where my problem was, trying to put V4 in characters, when all I had to do was point it at Poser 7 folder and it does all the rest.

Some hair loads directly into the Hair folder instead of the Character folder. If they're rmp hair, break down the folders and see. Otherwise I'd suggest extracting your daz .exe to your desktop to see what folders are available.
Also are you using poser 7 or 8? There are problems with some of the library in p8 not showing all the files.

Are you using your daz files? There are daz specific and poser specific files sometimes. If you try to use DS mats in Poser they won't work.

Oh there you go. They are probably in the hair folder instead of the figures folder. After years of laziness and being confused I started making external runtime and now all the hair is in one runtime and so easy to find!

Well, I did say I wanted to reinstall everything to clean up the junk...but ew. lol
I'm using poser 7, guess that may have helped when asking.
I'd really rather not reinstall everything until I get my external, so I may just see if there's a way around it for now. lol

Hair for Poser can be in multiple areas of the library, depending on the file type. Character folder for .cr2 files, those are your actual figure hairs that you have to conform to a model. Hair folder for .hr2 files, these are just for hair, and will load in directly on the character where they are supposed to be, unless you're using one for a different model in which case you'll have to use an included "fit" pose (located with the mats, unless of course there aren't fits in which case you're stuck doing it yourself). In the Pose folder, you'll find your fits and mats, both will be .pz2 files. To make things even more complicated, you can then find some hair in the Prop folder, as .pp2 files. These are usually just extras, like buns or ponytails, but some have been known to have the full hair there.

Went to look at the site. If I have to give a reason to even look at their site, then something tells me they're overcompensating for something.

How weird, I can't get back to it now. There was some tag along "log in to read more of the site" bs but you could still read the tutorial. *shrug* weird site then I guess. google searches are sometimes rather shitty! lol
