It's an old story - boy is lonely but exceptional, boy strikes out with girls, boy meets dragon. Old as time. O_o

May be an old story, but I was laughing my ass off at the trailer. Someone posted it over at Daz the other day, too. I like movies like this anyway. Fun for the kiddo, and I can sit there and drool at the 3d work LoL

My kids would really like this. LOL Me..well I'm just glad I'm not the only one who notices the 3D stuff. LOL It drives hubby bonkers when I won't shut up in the middle of a movie or show. =X

rofl yeah I am like that and with uniforms, omg if there is a military uniform I will sit and bitch about it being wrong and the badges not being half an inch etc. My hubby is the one in the AF he don't see it or over looks it but me being seamstress and working for the military for years it bugs the mickey out of me lol

I was being sarcastic about it being an old story. Geez. And as for uniforms, my father said something about hollywood having to get the uniforms wrong due to ... I don't know, something about impersonating, blah blah.
Eve 15 years ago
Yeah I've always heard that about the uniforms, too.

This movie is fucking adorable. We took both kids to see it last night at the drive-in and even I was enthralled through the entire movie.

Very much 'boy and his dog'. A troubled viking kid who's father is the leader of their clan is big on inventions and 'the intellect'. Manages to knock down the most feared and mysterious of all dragons, the Nightfury, but of course no one believes him. He sets off to find it and when he does, realizes he doesn't have the heart to not just kill it, but any dragon. The nightfury is wounded and can't fly, so Hiccup (the kid) designs a new tail that helps 'Toothless' (dragon and no, he really isn't) fly but also turns it into a mount.

Yadda yadda yadda, there is a bigger back story involving the dragons and there's a happy, if not unexpected, ending.

Really really enjoyed the movie. Solid 5 out of 5.

I saw it last night too, and I loved it. When he first gives it a fish and it spits back at him, then sits down and gives him that look, that just reminded me so much of my dog rofl.

The expressions on Toothless are just adorable!

Haven't seen it yet, but my kid already loves it. She's managed to worm her way into 3 of the eggs you "hatch" in water to get her own dragons already LoL
