Kay Jewlers commercial

LoL After hubby and I saw that, we looked at each other, rolled our eyes and went back to eating. Tho he did look back and ask me something like, do women really want jewelry like that? *shrug* This woman couldn't care less LoL

Yeah, I'm afraid I've done too much diamond commercial mockery to have any hope of getting pretties. I'll somehow live without it :).

Those commercials usually disgust me with their insistence that all women care about is material things, and stupid slogans like "Every kiss begins with Kay". Unfortunately, people are brainwashed by that garbage. One of the fools I work with tells me, every year, that "all women love to get jewelry" and "as soon as they unwrap it, they all know what that blue box means". Who is "they all"? I think most of the women I am friends with would think I was talking about phreaking if I mentioned a blue box, and wouldn't know (or care) what it was if they saw it.

I'm afeared to google...phreaking?

I wear 3 rings, 2 i bought myself, 1 i didnt. no diamonds tho. really not my thing. i like stuff like opals and moonstones and such.

Those commercials are so dumb. I'm not a big jewelry person, too. I wear a pair of diamond earrings I bought when I worked for Weisfields back in 1996 and an anniversary band in place of my old wedding ring and this 3 sapphire ring that mike bought me back in 92 for like 100 bucks. I get more compliments on that ring than anything else.

There is a place in Oregon where you can collect your own Sunstone. My roomie found one worth several grand - you can then send it off to a jewler to be cut (Assuming you find a nice one) - pretty cool.

I take it from this thread that none of you ladies really run around screaming "HE WENT TO JARROD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I hate those stupid god damn Jarrod commercials. Other than the guy being cute, it doesn't portray reality at all. Wait, neither does the cute guy happily giving jewelry. =x

I LOVE diamonds. They go with everything, and are so hard you don't need to worry too much about hurting them, so for rings I don't think they can be beat.

I also love rubies, Tanzanites, Alexandrites, sapphires, emeralds, and tourmalines. About the only thing I'm not fond of are pearls, and that's mainly because they're so vulnerable.

Funny thing is I have a lot of jewelry, but I usually only wear earrings all the time. I normally in too much of a hurry to think about putting it on in the morning before work :P

Oh, and when I was younger about the only thing I wore a lot of was gold...my tastes have changed a lot since I've gotten older. Maybe because I can afford more now...I don't know. I just like 'shinies'! lol

The only good thing about the jewelery commercials are the laughs and jokes you make about them to your friends. Especially the Jarod ones!
