XBox 360 question
Ok so I pooled the last of my xmas gift cards and cash and got myself a nifty new xbox 360 elite. Primarily so I can play 1 vs 100 online with my family (that was what we did together all over the holidays at my sis's & uncles). Does anyone here have one? Can I make 2 profiles on 1 gold membership? I don't want to be stuck with a generic blech profile for the household =x
Also are there any rp games for it? or something else someone would recommend? I saw trivial pursuit and monopoly so they'll be mine soon.. I don't go in for anything that requires timing or dexterity, like fight games or FPS things. Maybe a nice wizardry like type one (but not dragons age.. I don't need that much of a time sink!)

Try a game called Braid. It's a download game that only costs about 15 bucks. It isn't an RPG, but it isn't a twitch game. It's a very cleverly done puzzle style game with amazing art and music. it is on many gamers top 5 of all time lists - but only those who have heard of it. It was a privately made game that wasn't marketed.

That sounds interesting Vulash... I like Tetris and Bejeweled, those kinds of games and puzzles too. I'm still figuring the whole interface out but its something I can buy through their marketplace then?

To be honest, if you put an Xbox, Wii or a Playstation in front of someone, they'd more than likely play the Xbox. Xbox has a wide variety of games. Wii is fun if your still into Mario and Sonic and Zelda etc....but the Xbox imo is more of an adult friendly game. Playstation is also, but meh...I never really cared for their game library like I ever did with Xbox.....Plus Xbox has Halo and most everything that Playstation has and Halo is all kinds of win.
Nothing like networking some Xboxs and having several friends have a death match in Halo....its fun fucking times.

I've never heard of a non-gamer adult with an xbox. However, I have heard of a whole slew of them with a Wii... and they always want to demonstrate their favorite game via pantomime for some reason -_-

ehhh Pharren... my sister, my mom and my uncle have xboxes and they're not gamers. My mom plays puzzles and 1vs100, my sister got it for rock band / guitar hero stuff and to play online with mom / uncle (same as me) But I'm not a console person, never have been. The only console game I ever really got into? This should tell you... Zelda. The original. And I'll eventually get a PS3 but simply to be my blu ray player since I'm told it is the best for the money.

I recommend 360 over PS3. Most people do - though some prefer PS3. Having said that - if you plan to get a PS3 anyway, and aren't a huge console gamer (I'm not either) I'm not sure I'd buy both. I think you could get enough to be satisfied out of the PS3 if you wanted to own it anyway.

PS3 has the blu ray player, too. We have all 3 though - xbox360, ps3, and the wii =x

The PS3 suffered so much negative press due to the craptastic way Sony released the thing. I think that is a big part of why people prefer the xbox or Wii; those products were actually available at the time of their release.

I was under the impression the xbox doesn't play blu ray disks? If it doesn't that would be the only reason I'd buy a PS3. We have the xbox already and its neat.. have a netflix account already so its nice and easy to use it for watchign movies. Not to mention playing 1vs100 was fun.. now to get the rest of my family in the same "room" so we can play against each other! (No I'm not competitive.. really... lol )

Xbox doesn't play bluray. However, you have to have a gold members to view netflix instant stuff, whereas with the ps3, it's free. So is the disc they send you that you need to view stuff.

Seriously? Fuck Sony. If you want a clear and concise synopsis of the dangers of capitalism, look at the story of HDDVD vs BluRay.
Still... if they hadn't tried to do whatever it was they were trying to do to the market when PS3, 360, and Wii all came out, there probably wouldn't be much discussion. A LOT of people wanted a PS3, and bought something else, because they couldn't get one, or they resented the way Sony was jerking them about like an evil, curling-mustachioed puppeteer. With a top hat. Cackling all the while.

Xbox has more staying power then PS does. I bet the PS goes the way of Sega soon.
And btw, Xbox wasnt all great and dandy when it first came out either - They had to take their entire stock off the shelf for a few weeks initially because the system(s) had a 50% chance of not even working. It almost fucked the system over before it even got started.
