Spiderman 4 (2012)
Mike Fleming and Nikki Finke have just confirmed that Sony Pictures decided today to reboot the Spider-Man franchise after franchise director Sam Raimi pulled out of Spider-Man 4 because he felt he couldn't make its summer release date and keep the film's creative integrity. This means that Raimi and the cast including star Tobey Maguire are out. There will be no Spider-Man 4. Instead, Mike Fleming is told, the studio will focus on a Summer 2012 reboot from a script by Jamie Vanderbilt with a new director and a new cast. All this took place today at meeting on the lot today.

Well, to be fair, a lot of the die hard Spiderman fans absofuckinglutley hated the original Spiderman films. They wasnt as "cool" as say.....Dark Knight or Ironman etc....and a lot felt that there was a tad bit too much comedy and romance to the films to really get in good with what Spidey was all about.
So if they remake the film once again and its on the same level as a Dark Knight, imo people will forgive the action.

I heard it was going to be mostly Peter Paker's experience in high school. Yeah. More Twilight angst.

Anytime anything is made in film the die hard pretentious find reasons to hate it. There won't be forgiveness for this - it is simply too early. I won't go see it.

I agree that Tobey Maguire didn't seem to fit as Spiderman. I don't know what it was. I also agree that remaking it so soon is really pretty dumb.
But now that Sam Raimi isn't working on Spiderman 4, more time for the Warcraft movie. :D

Much better. That has a more serious tone than the Toby Macguire Spiderman movies by a long shot. Im a die hard Spidey fan and I was APPALLED by those movies.
Hopefully this FINALLY does the Webslinger justice.
