Heavy Rain - PS3

4 different perspectives during a string of serial murders involving 8-13y/o boys by the Origami Killer. Pretty interesting so far, the controls are whacked though.

Catherine and I finished this tonight. We managed to get the 4 heroes, ultimate ending - saved everyone, figured out the killer, and everyone lives happily ever after.

We fuck that noise.

We went to youtube and found the alternate endings and wow...some of them are pretty bad, some are funny, some are creepy. There's one guy who does complete, and I mean COMPLETE, walkthrus with a running commentary. It was hilarious, but he literally has all 52 cut scenes/levels on youtube.

Ultimately, this was a really interesting game. If you're looking for something similar to Dragon Age - roleplay with action - this isn't quite it. It's not free roaming and each scene is about 10 mins long if you do it right and it switches you between the 4 characters without any choice: Norman Jayden - FBI, Madison Paige - Journalist, Ethan Mars - father/suspected killer/(anti)hero, Scott Shelby - Private Dectective.

Jayden's is pretty cool - he has a super sneaky FBI tool that allows him to slip on some sunglasses (yes, even at night), a super cool black glove, and instant recall on DNA and microscopic analysis. He is, however, an addict.

Ethan Mars is the fallen hero, the father who experienced the death of a child, that his wife (now ex-wife) blames him for, and becomes part of the Origami's killers weird ass web of murder and violence through unreal trials as his only living son is kidnapped. He also experiences black outs that last for hours and always ends him up on the same corner of a street, holding an origami piece.

Madison Paige starts off with a nightmare, which explains her insomnia and how she runs into Ethan at a motel. This is the only way she can sleep. She finds him, completely shattered and wounded from his Origami trials and she plays nurse. If you play your cards right, they totally do it. I had to tell Catherine to leave the room.

Scott Shelby is a retired police cop, now private eye, who is looking for the Origami killer, convincing each parent of a dead child to reveal something they did not tell the police. He is literally, the fat knight in shining armor. He has the most fight scenes and you can't help but root for him. He befriends, and eventually falls for, the hooker mother of one of the victims.

It wasn't at all what we expected. Hell at one point I had the FBI guy accidentally kill a suspect, much to his Lt. cop partner's delight. Oops. There's a funny Indiana Jones IV reference - think the mighty refrigerator. If you've seen that movie, it'll save one of the character's life LOL Long story short - it has multiple endings and Cat and I managed to get the best. It was pretty cool.
