Site problems

Last night and tonight have been really whacky for me. Browsing is mostly ok, but I hit points where posting is near impossible. Is it because of the increased mafia load (Though there never seems to be more than 10ish) or is it on my end maybe? It's happening both at home, and at the school here. I haven't seen anyone else comment on it so I'm worried it's something local.

This was after it lagged so bad the other night that I couldn't even load anything. Dropped an f-bomb, granted I censored it =/

Hello,

I'm writing in regards to ticket #7235930, on your website slowness.

I have checked your website at http://theangrycrayon.com/ and observed that the site is loading fine on my end. I have also checked with our engineers, and currently we are not seeing performance issues with our MySQL servers on the system.

There are a number of reasons for slowness, such as redundant database table configurations or unsecured scripts on the site. These sites that are heavily built with CGI load from our CGI pools. In most cases these pools load pages quickly, but on a shared hosting platform you do encounter situations where another sites poorly coded or exploited CGI can cause a heavy load on the server, especially during peak hours. In general our limits help to prevent any single user (or users) from harming the server pool, but it can happen, especially with the abundance of hackers and exploitable CGI scripts.

We are making CGI improvements every day and hope to continue to improve the infrastructure, but there will be times when the site may be slow. This is the nature of shared hosting, unfortunately, but things are monitored on a regular basis to correct server side issues as they appear.

If you have any further questions regarding this issue, please feel free to reply to this ticket through your Support Console or have an agent do so for you via email/telephone. Thank you for contacting us.

Vex fixed some errors she found - let us know if it's still laggy for y'all.
ROzbeans 15 years ago
Has it been laggy at all?

Not for me, but not for a few days for me

Actually I'm staying logged in on my phone, now, too. I still have a weird thing at work where when I go to the site it shows the main page and it looks like I'm not logged in, and then I click any link and it switches to my theme and I'm magically logged in. But at least it's not making me log in twice a day from my phone. That shit was annoying. Also, no lag!
ROzbeans 15 years ago
Yeah that happened to Mike yesterday. NO clue why it's doing that.

It's been happening to me at work ever since upgrading the site... all 4 computers in the break room do it. That's nowhere near as annoying as having to log in every damn day from my cell phone. I don't have a fancy-shmancy keyboard, i have to 7-44-2-777-777-33-66 my way through that shit.

I know, pharren. Doing the best we can here.

You misunderstand. I wish to shower you with rose petals and bathe your feet in perfumed oils for fixing the shit so that I don't have to log in with my phone all the time. Clicking the "forum" link to auto-login every time I visit the site from work instead of already being logged in is >>>> REALLLY <<<< not a big deal, lol.

Has the site been pretty stable? It has for me.

It's been really stable for me. Yay Vex?

Yeah it's been great :)

Yup, I guess the 404 errors she found were causing the problems. Once she got that cleared up, we were gold. :ole Thanks for everyone's patience.
