The girl who played with fire

If you haven't read the book (I have it but haven't, not yet) but seen the movie, this apparently addresses why Lisbeth is the way she is. You see the video of her vicious rape by her guardian/probation officer which leads you to believe that she's been abused by men of authority all her life - starting with her father who she torched. The first movie only touches upon the brutality of her father (her mother is in a crazy ward) but I hope it explains more.

These movies are undoubtedly violent. Not sure I'll see it in theaters when it releases in the US (end of the year). Apparently this releases in the UK in Aug/Sept. Lucky bastards. Going to wait for the dvd so I don't have to get up and leave the theater during the vicious sexual stuff =/

The actress that plays Lisbeth is AMAZING. Does dark, tortured, and extremely brilliant perfectly.
