Someone make dwarves, OMG!

I neeeeedz me some dwarfies!! Boy dwarfies as well as girl dwarfies, heck even MORE than girl dwarfies!! Pleeeeze...

Heh, hubby just started playing Rift. Guess what class? He's the leader of the guild he's in and it's an offshoot of a large EQ2 guild on Guk server, so I want to make him a really nice sig. I would LOVE to be able to use M4 for it, but there aren't any dwarf morphs yet. I've tried making my own, and all I've done so far is... well, make a mess, LOL.

*begs shamelessly*

Get the uhm Shape of a Man I think they're called. Has good height morphs which you can also put for the clothes. Then it's just a matter of getting the right face and actual body shape. I have some rendered now for hubby, but need to do some serious post work on their beards.

<3 Rift hehe The 4 gen figures have alot of "break" issues when trying to distort the figure alot of the times. This is why I have yet to complete my gnome n dwarf for V4. I am wondering tho if the new Genesis figure/upgrade (whatever) is going to be using same rigging/mesh or not ..

I did however see these guys that I thought would make a kickin dwarf! -

http://www.runtimedna.com/Dwarvez.html Just use cross dresser or something for armor fits?

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/zwen/85717 this lil guy is cute but has sissy arms for a dwarf. Can adjust with mags if you dont know how or own something like Hex,Studio etc 3d modeling program hehe

Do you use Daz?

Is great for making gnomes and dwarves in Daz.. it doesnt work as great in poser.. cause poser cant resize anything properly ><

yeah

You might check out the above link, its great for short and stout characters.

yeah I was looking at that a bit ago, but I achieved relatively close to what I wanted with the v4/stephanie morphs. Clothing wasn't fun, and I admit I haven't tried to make a guy yet, mostly because my husband and friends are all playing humans or elves (boo), but I think I might take on the challenge now!

Pfft it works in Poser Pro 2010 version anyway. That's what I made my goblins with. The only real problem came from the arms, and that was easily post-worked out. There is a version for the guys as well. I used that to make my 7 foot tall giant, and it worked great for that. Just seems like going shorter, the arms and occasionally the legs around the ankles get a lil wonky. Hopefully that gets even better in the next version
Lessa 13 years ago
I hope so! If the daz people can figure it out Poser should be able to as well.

Why are you not in messenger, wench?
Adiene 13 years ago
yeah I have that too! totally forget about it =/ I bought it in hopes it would help with my character issue but still get the wonky bits in poser wahhh!
Lessa 13 years ago
I dug Daz out of the closet just for the sole purpose of making a gnome.. poser's resizing wonkiness is too upsetting to deal with.. I dont have Eve's leet skills though

does the shape of a woman work in p8?
Lessa 13 years ago
it works, but not well

If you try to make them too much smaller their hands and feet dislocate a bit, I believe the other morphs work fine though.
Eve 13 years ago
I skipped P8, so I'm not sure. It "works" in PP2010, but with some of the above mentioned wonkiness. Does P8 have the ability to scale clothes with the figure? If it does, there should be a check box for that and morph as well in the parameters tab or whatever it's called where you can turn things invis. Drawing a blank atm and I'm upstairs on my laptop away from Poser LoL If it has that, it should work as well in P8 as it does for me in Pro.

And Lessa beat me while I was typing LoL

Thanks guys. I will take a look at the settings I was thinking about getting pro but figured I would wait for next version of poser.

This is pretty much why I hesitate to sign up for exchanges. I prefer to play dwarves, but I can tell how difficult it is to morph a body to shorter proportions and I don't want to force someone to buy a dwarf model (if any) just to do an exchange for me. (That's why I tend to have a human character as an alternate back-up when I finally do sign up. ) I saw Eve's goblin version -- omg, to die for.

One of the best dwarf morph that I ever got was from Vex's F'ing Fairy turn-in (I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard). I don't actually know if it was a morph or a ready-made model, but you can definitely ask her how she pulled it off.

Definitely keeping an eye on this thread. I'm always curious if people actually do find custom dwarf/gnome models!
Eve 13 years ago
Ahh you weren't the only one laughing at that one! She used the Chubblies for her, which is an add-on morph set done for the Mil Baby a few years ago now. Pretty sure she used that same model for an adorable lil gnome as well. Ah ha! Found her

Oh, man, blast to the past! I vaguely remember seeing that gnome sig. That was a long time ago! Now that I see how cute that model is, I'm actually even more impressed with the bloated fairy.

That daz genieis figure might be promising for dwarfs I found m4 to jinkie morph by fairly well there's an image of in my rendo gallery of them
