The Guard

I watched this today and thought it was good. I know there's some Don Cheadle haters here, so your mileage may vary.

The trailer makes it seem a good bit sillier than it actually is. I mean, they say a lot of funny stuff in the movie, but the timing is so much different than it is in the trailer, that it has a completely different feel. And the whole time I was watching it, I was thinking, "This kinda reminds me of 'In Bruges'*." Obviously, both have Brendan Gleeson in the starring role, but it turns out the "In Bruges" dude's brother directed this one, so maybe there's some sort of gene responsible for making movies like this.




* Also, if you haven't seen "In Bruges," you really should.
