Angels and Demons - Dan Brown or something else normal

This book owns. It also deals alot with art, which I'm not into, but it was still awesome. I only say that because some people on this board may enjoy it even more because of that. I guess its the prequel to the Da Vinci Code? which I haven't read but will - Anyway its rock out

This is a "can't put it down omg 4am I work in 2 hours" book.

You might want to read The DaVinci Code when you have about 4 hours to kill, and no sleep nearby

I haven't read this or any other Dan Brown books after Da Vinci Code because all of the reviews I read stated all of his books are pretty much the same plot with similar characters.

not true at all, Digital Fortress was fantastic, and so was Deception Point, all must reads.

No she's right they are the same. Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code are still worth reading though. His other two books however are once again the same, but not as good as those two. So it's not worth reading unless you're bored and would like to know how a book is going to end 50 pages into a 300 page book.

I finished Da Vinci Code - I liked Angels and Demons better, I enjoyed the puzzles more. Da Vinci ending was probably better. They are definately the same mold, but thats ok they were still entertaining. Whichever you read first will probably be your favorite.

I read Da Vinvi Code first, but I still felt that Angels and Demons was better. I liked the corpse chasing.

I enjoyed both but they do follow the same storyline.
Maybe since it's been a few months since I read those two, I should try one of his other books? I have a bad memory and will have forgotten a bit of his writing style. Not a bad plan!

Don't bother, those are basically the same story different plot. Except they're worse. They really aren't worth reading if you've read Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code.

He speaks the truth. Every Dan Brown book uses the same characters, he just changes the name. And the plot always follows the same general format, it is just set in a different place with different obstacles and puzzles. Da Vinci Code is worth reading because of the subject matter imbedded in the story, and Angels and Demons is actually a pretty good book. I found the rest of his stuff to be garbage, though.

Thats a better way of phrasing it actually (the way Jin did). I liked Angels and Demons story much better, but Da Vinci had alot more interesting subjet matter.

Basically it's going to end up like this. If Dan Brown doesn't change his writing style he's going to end up the Tom Clancy of Thriller novels. And does anyone really want another Tom Clancy? I sure as fuck don't. Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, but he really needs to get his shit together because sooner or later people are going to catch on. And then the only way to make money is to completely embrace Tom Clancyism and make a book every 4 months. If you can't make good books anymore you might as well flood the market and hope people will buy your books on name recognition.
