Mafia Hit #2 /ooc discussion

Ophelia is dead. Discuss.

Mai 19 years ago
Here's my thoughts or just thought for the moment.

Miraculously, she found her breath in that instant of recognition, and managed to croak out one last word.

Miraculously? Such as might suggest our dear Rev. Tilton? It could also be Elegua.. but I think the Rev makes the most sense.

Shame too, I liked him.

If there is no SK kill tonight, at least we know we got the serial killer. However I need to reread the mafia hit. I dont see any obvious clues.

Gus glanced carefully over the scene. One of Ophelia's breasts had popped out of her clothing, but he barely noticed it. His attention instead was drawn to the spilled drink lying near her bluing and stiffening fingers. She hardly sipped it. A booze-hound like this broad, not knocking back such a fine brandy? Hard to believe. He touched the spilled alcohol and raised his fingers to his nose... the lack of smell meant nothing, however: he still suspected she'd been poisoned before... whatever else had happened. The others were ranting about possession and soul-devouring, but Dario figured a simple human was behind this, and the motive was pretty fucking plain, like an oozing pimple on a model's perfect nose. Poison. And who's got the background to have it on them? Svetlana, possibly military. Elegua, whose religion probably gets him access

Kk, since the mafia hit seemed somewhat lacking in clues I'm gonna try and hash it out some.

I’m going to start from the end. She said one word to her killer: You

Ophelia was decidedly suspicious from day one:
Following closely to the edges of the group, Ophelia began eyeing the movements of everyone around her to look for the smallest indication that one of them could be a killer.

From this I would come to think that the exclamation meant that her killer was someone she had become more familiar with and hadn't been expecting to turn on her. The tone almost seemed one of betrayal (well, how much tone can you glean from a single typed word, but still it felt that way to me).

So who was she getting more familiar with?
Maelarya disengaged herself from Isaac's grasp and sauntered over to Ophelia. 'I'm thirtsy,' she purred at Ophelia. 'Fix me a drink?'
Ophelia flashed a mischevious grin. "Brandy?" She sauntered over to the bar and started pouring.

As to the method of death. I think the clue is in the drink itself, not what may or may not have been put in it. In other words, I don’t think its a coincidence that Maelarya and Ophelia had been drinking brandy together not an hour before her death (though I'm sure Ophelia had probably been drinking Brandy the hour prior and the one prior to that etc. etc....).

I hate to point fingers this early in the day, but my money is on Maelarya (sorry Mae, you know I lub you lol)

Whoa whoa - not mafia or the SK. It could be Isaac as easily as it being me. Or if you wanted to be ironic - it was the good Reverand Bob. The only thing Maelarya is guilty for is poor choices in makeup and a propensity for illegal drugs. No killy.

Gus nodded as he mentally rearranged the foreign military chick's garbled syntax. She had a point. While Dario still didn't trust her, he dropped her down a few spots on his suspect list. Elegua was now dead, but the empty vial Gus had found near him indicated that he indeed might've been guilty of Ophelia's death. But, hell, Svetlana's got a point. There's too much a connection between those two broads to just blow it off... I'll move her to the top of the list —especially since the voodoo dude is now off with his gods permanently.

Well thats more then I had to go on =/ I read both and just sat here thinking "I don't see any" =x

Working on wow updates but soon as I'm done I'll reread and see if I can find any more to go on

MAE LIKE WE BELIEVE THAT JUST CAUSE YOU SAY IT !!! although I guess you may not be guilty ;p

/POINTS THE FINGER AT ISAAC - 'Icy', his friends call him. Think its significant that its chilly or...icy? during that last mafia hit? We either lynch bob or Weiner.

So, isn't it a tad wierd that one person who had accumulated votes yesterday is the same person that was killed today? Seems to me that those who vted for Ophelia are none other then mafia themselves. When their voting bloc couldn't kill her, they decided to whack her in a skid.

IMO the mafia are: Vulash, Grimknot, Aramous, Larene.
Vulash 19 years ago
That would make sense if there was some reason for her to die, but it was day 1 ;p

Its been My experience that those who point fingers are guilty themselves instead of who they point fingers at
Cobert 19 years ago
If she had told the wrong person who she was, (maybe she was the doctor or the sheriff) then perhaps that was the reason.

Holy cripes...

I lost the luvin feeling already and only day 2

Out of Curiosity

Did Pascal accumulate votes as well?

If you want to go with this line of thinking I won't sit here and come with reason after reason it is wrong, but just keep in mind who you are accusing ;p If I was mafia do you really think I'd let them all vote the same then kill the same person?

Now that I think about it 4 people voted for her and there are 4 mafia according to the chord theory. So the GF orders the hit as a frame. Either you are playing into their plan Elvaiz or your coordinating it and trying to give it substance since no one saw it yet. Good times
Tornt 19 years ago
I'm looking at the Priest myself. Then again, Mae is good at lieing.. could go both ways... Geuss we'll see later tonight )
Grimknot 19 years ago
Elvaiz is right.

Elvaiz
Vulash, Grimknot, Aramous, Larene.

I admit, we're all 4 Mafia and figured the best way to hide was by blatantly killing the person who we failed to vote for the day before.

Seriously, looks like a frame job to me and the one directing it is either Elvaiz, though honestly if he was I think he'd be smart enough to have someone else point the finger.

Honestly I voted for Ophelia b/c I wanted to save Summer. People who play a game and die or lose on their very first day don't tend to come back for more and I think this would be a blast with 30-40 people.

BTW my vote tied it Ophelia 5 and Summer 5 with Pascal 3. Then came a last minute campaign to lynch Pascal and save Ophelia. First day voting sucks imo.

I don't think Bob is the SK. He is a highly intelligent individual which is apparent simply in his writings. If he were the SK he'd never whack the guy that made him look guilty with his first kill.

However Bob does make a good patsy for the real SK.
Vulash 19 years ago
I'm not buying him as SK either
