Sin City

Ok I was wondering. I asked about this on BB hate, but I thought better of it, assumed Id get the worst of comments from some of these people, and figured Id better come over here for some actuall answers lol.

Sin City - is it too violent, many curse words, over all not good for kids? I mean, if its cartoon stuff, like no worse than what my 4 year old sees when he watches Spiderman 2 or Lord of the Rings (which he LOVES) or hmm, he likes Star Wars (so much for violent /giggle) -- you have an idea of what I let him watch anyway, should I allow him to see it? He really wants to see it, but I dont know anyone that has seen it to ask what its about, and I dont want to take him to the theater if its a really rough movie. I was assuming since it was a comic based movie it wasnt too bad, but then again, now days you can never tell. Thanks!

lol that movie isn't good for some adults O_O.

I really don't think sin city is a good idea for such a young kid. It's a whole 'nother level of violence from the movies you listed, and there is a lot of swearing and nudity.

Yep, what Veri said. I cringed at a few things and I'm usually not phased by much so I don't think it would be a good idea for the kiddo.

It depends on what your kid's ago is.. just ask yourself if you want him to see a movie that deals with pedophiles, rape, castration, cannibalism, torture and lots of beating and fighting... it may be done in a comic book esque style, but is still very adult IMO. Don't get me wrong it is an AMAZING movie for it's style and feel, and I really loved it.. but it's about pg-14 minimum to me.

Yep we were discussing whether my mother should let my 15 year old brother go see it and the reaction was doubtful.

As far as violence goes would you let him watch Kill Bill?

ok the answer to that Mae2 would be HELL NO. So Im really glad I asked first. I wanted to know what level the violence was on, and it sounds like its pretty fierce. I definatly dont want him seeing it if there is a lot of gore and blood, and sounds like by the descriptions that its that and so much more.

Thanks guys!!

and hi, the movie's name is Sin City. The movie is rated R. The movie was based on an ultraviolent comic novel. I couldn't imagine this movie would be good for kids. The end.

I dont know anything about the comic. Which is why I asked.

Saw this last night. Wow. Just wow. The character that Mickey Rourke played was just downright awesome. Not my type of movie, but it was still awesome, and you have to have an artists appreciation at how the movie was done. I love it. :)

:) It was very well done. While I've only read one of the comics, it did seem to capture the style of it very well but that could just be my newb opinion.

Everyone here has been talking about the creepy hobbit. :winky
