While I feel the story of how my daughter came to be in this world is deeply personal, I like you guys well enough that I will share it with you all. I have never told this story publicly before and am a little nervous about doing so now, so I certainly hope you read with an open mind and understanding ear.

There was a little patch of mint growing in the garden. I couldn’t claim credit for it; it just started growing there. I could, however, pick a few leaves to flavor my fresh squeezed lemonade. That is why, when they found me, I was on my knees in the dirt, mint leaves mingling with the sweat in my hands, the sun burning my pale neck after only a few minutes outside.

They came, these many tentacled creatures, in an explosion of light that blinded me for a moment, leaving burning yellow spots in front of my eyes as the spacecraft descended, finally landing on my front lawn. A door slid upward, revealing a black interior, while simultaneously a ramp slid downward.

At this point, scared out of my mind as I was, I turned and ran, screaming my head off in panic.

Or at least that’s what I thought I did. In reality, I moved slowly, deliberately to the ships entrance. One foot in front of the other. Up the ramp. And into the blackness.

It was surprising, after entering that black cavern, to wake in a room filled with white light. There was a moment of disorientation; I did not remember being knocked unconscious, being taken to this room, being strapped to this table.

But I wasn’t strapped to the table after all. Instead, translucent white tentacles were firmly wrapped around my ankles, winding up my calves to my knees. I twisted my head to one side; more tentacles coiled around my wrists.

I fainted.

When I came to, I was once again on my knees in the garden, mint leaves for my lemonade now crushed in my hand. I rubbed the back of my neck cautiously, but the inevitable sunburn wasn’t too bad; I wasn’t out long. I dropped the leaves, wiped the grimy sweat from my hands on my jeans, and went inside.

It was, of course, perfectly possible that I conceived in “the natural way”. But I didn’t think so. Not that I shared my doubts, or anything that happened that day, with…well with anyone as a matter of fact. It was my secret, and perhaps I felt some fierce protection, some ownership over this unique knowledge I possessed, this special form I carried within my body.

When the proud father came into the hospital room, beaming in spite of the bags under his eyes and the tremors in his hands, and announced that our daughter did indeed have “Ten fingers and ten toes,” I was overwhelmed with relief. “That’s it?” I asked. “Only ten?”

He gave me kind of a strange look, but let it pass. We were both pretty tired, after all.

And here I thought I was the only one who gave birth to aliens.

OK, between ruby and the frat I was in, I couldn't tell you if I conceived a child or not.

But if are carrying my child/gave birth to it, please inform me how it happened, and how much I owe. As I was most likely blacked out at a time.

Please send a picture of you + kid.

Thanks,

Prosecution

That's cool :) I was born on my mother's birthday. They thought she was a little out of it when they brought her into the delivery room and she was singing "happy birthday to me" the doctor said.. "Don't you mean the baby?" ..."Nope, me."

When she turned 42 we had a cake with numbers on it.. it said 420. :winky
