Alas poor Jubes.. Ok so did anyone even see any clues in that? I saw none for the mafia but maybe one for the SK.. going to reread bios and look for clues.. any thoughts?

Gah I was so caught up in the scene I barely noticed, will go back and look through it again.

Here is some things from the mafia. I'll go back and read the SK again in a sec but I've not had any caffeine so I'm having a hard time focusing. *focus focus focus*
I don't know that just seemed to stand out. I've no idea who it would point to.
There are several who have the ability to make people feel things.. palpable-touch. And maybe infectious has to do with infecting them with a feeling.
Another that stood out pressure.. not sure what it means though.
Snapped stood out to me.. music maybe? like snapping your fingers? (could just be that doowaditty song going through my head)
Edge would suggest something sharp, there are a couple of people that could be for.
Whirled and crazy stood out here to me.
Several mentions of the word broken? Don't know what that means either.
My thinking abilities will be much improved...ok, somewhat improved, by caffeine. Will check it out when I get back.
dangling from exposed wires.
The tension was palpable and infectious.

The voice of reason did little to relieve the pressure.

She snapped out of her musing

Perhaps the sentinel attack had her edgy,

Fears and doubts whirled through Jubilee's head...started to make a crazy sort of sense.

Well well well.
Let's see here...
There's the obvious nod to Mai the time shifter and Brit, but this could also point to Blackrabbit, our well adjusted Italian celloist, or Etric, our European artistic prodigy.
Snow is mentioned twice in the scene, but I'm not sure if that means anything; I couldn't find anything.
I'm going to dig around the character threads some more. There's something to these three sequences I think, but I don't know what yet. All I see so far is a reference to the historic figure Batman that could tie into the ancient, old, forgotten relic thing. What the hell is the deal with the hanging light w/ exposed wires though? I'm not sure on that, thoughts?
At first glance, the heavy ring-like bruise made me think of Slipnish's weird assed costume with all those "'Sensory Rings and Nodules of Empathic Coordination and Relay Induction' surrounding and protruding from every available flat space," butI guess anyone who was strangled would have a ring-like bruise. Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't, but the word choice of that sentance attracted my attention.
I don't know if the above two quotes are connected; ash is mentioned in the second one so I lumped that together with the burn marks. This could simply be dealing with Jubilee's character, but the "scarred walls" in particular and the mention of ash make me think of Elvaiz's unusual subdermal markings. Also, these quotes take place in a tricky part of the scene; the transition between the mafia hit and the serial kill. While the first quote discusses the results of the mafia's actions, it is from the serial killer's pov. The second quote is purely from the serial killer's pov. It just feels fuzzy to me.
These fragments are iffy at best but I think we should hold onto it and see what else the scenes throw our way.
Let's see here...
The stone walls gave the room a feeling of timelessness, almost as if this could have been in the bowels of an ancient European castle.
Discarded relics littered the room, many covered in sheets or plastic. A few broken statues lay toppled in a corner. A single light hung from the ceiling, dangling from exposed wires.
the light, broken, hanging dead from the ceiling
In the dim light, one could just barely make out all manner of old and forgotten objects filling the space, ranging from decaying furniture to ancient religious symbols and relics.

A heavy ring-like bruise across her throat showed that she had been strangled nearly to death before her attackers had fled.

The storage room was in disarray, crates broken and smashed, burn marks from her futile attempt to defend herself scarred the walls;
As it edged away from the small vortex of snow and ash that had been kicked up in front of it...

Yeah now that you point out time stuff I can see that but I'd also like to point out there in a game called "The days of Future Past" and as such time is one of those things that are going to be mentioned a lot. Don't hang me for being unique just yet, please. :(

It's all pretty inconclusive at this point. I'd really like to know what the deal with the ancient relics and the hanging light is.

Went back and found some SK things of note.. watch them kill me =)
Perhaps a slip on the mod's part?
Something that perhaps the SK is a foreigner? We have a couple of those..
Someone who isn't used to snow or cold winters?
Perhaps someone with sharper than average hearing?
The SK is someone who would choose to be alone outside, and heard something we all didn't. Those parts of course could be situational for the set up. But assuming the male reference was a slip up, then let's say the SK is male, foreign from the east and not used to cold air. That leaves only Jon (Nastirith). If we disregard the male part that could be Cache (Briare) and if we think about hearing something most didn;t that's obviously Bisbiglia (Blackrabbit) The hearing one is way too obvious thought I think, and probably more for the set up. I'll look back at your Mafia in a sec.

staring out across the now desolate cityscape that sprawled out before him

The wind blew hard from the [quote]east
Someone who isn't used to snow or cold winters?
causing yet more unfamiliarly cold air to invade the sanctuary
Perhaps someone with sharper than average hearing?
the lone mutant suddenly heard a soft, yet sharp *BANG* from inside the church
Apparently, nobody else had heard it, because the entire basement level was abandoned

What about the guy who doesn't claim to be a part of the planet? He was put in solitary..so maybe the alone thing points to him? He would be about as foreign as you can get if he really isn't from earth.
:?
Still haven't gotten caffeine.

There are a lot of references to shadows, lights and such. That could be a hint at Prophet (Elviaz), rather obviously. The wires one makes me think of electricity and that makes me think of Ms Martha's gadgets. The relics.. a hint at Batman, an interesting theory, since the notion of a hero is rather a relic in these days. But none of the other clues fits him.. Gah the bad thing is being so early it could be so many people :( We're going to lynch a townie I fear
And I am with you on the time stuff Mai, it's part of the theme I think so you're just going to be fighting a battle with those clues the whole game.
So.. anyone else curious about the special role they've added and what that could do? I mean if it's a 3rd party picking us off we're in deep trouble..

Yeah, "Jon" doesn't really strike me as being "from the east." He doesn't really strike me as being from anywhere actually, heh.
Cache's origins work with the 'eastern foreigner who isn't used to cold' clue a bit better, but then there's that pesky "him" thing.
Elvaiz...well there's some other stuff that points to him, kind of. It feels pretty soft to me.
Blackrabbit...geez, the hearing thing is damning, but the "him" thing pulls me in the other direction. So we have to ask ourselves...which way is our chain being yanked?
The him thing could be messing with us, it really could.

Desolate stood out to me.
Small vortex, a sphere maybe?
Ok, either I'm both mafia and the SK (I r L33t!) or the relics and time stuff are something you can't help put in a scene. We need it to make sense of things. Summer got lynched last time for every time related clue. Look it up, She wasn't the SK, she was a townie. I swear next time I'm going to be the paper boy.. doh! boy= age.. crap. I can't win.
Surged? music maybe or does surge suggest something to anyone else?
Engulfing stood out here. One could say crimson might, which would lead to Temprah but I think it will be hard not mention the color of blood. You might want to consider the paper boy idea next time also. ;)
Ring does seem strange.
Long ago! age again! I am the SK and the mafia I tell you.
Visible mean anything to anyone?
Military. It just seemed so potent not to be ignored.

The mutant surged forward
Surged? music maybe or does surge suggest something to anyone else?
engulfing the thin trickle of the crimson liquid that was leaking from her ears:
A heavy ring-like bruise across her throat showed
Ring does seem strange.
Any human would have been dead long ago from the savage assault.
To her horror, she watched a visible change
Visible mean anything to anyone?
stood fully upright and straight, like a soldier at attention
Military. It just seemed so potent not to be ignored.
launch a defense

Umm.. Jon described himself as Jamaican so that is slightly east of the US. the SK is thinking about how the city once was, and Jon is older than most of us from what I gathered from his bio and moved around a lot so he could remember the city from before. He has a 'bleak soul' so you could see him sitting alone thinking "The mutant’s dire musings" but then again we could all be seen doing that right now.
Yeah the blood comment is going to be kind of difficult to avoid, since her name is Crimson and her codename Redd.. doesn't leave the mods many options. But I know my innocence so I didn't catch that one =p

There's this, too.
Dunno who that might be pointing to though.
And of course, this seems to contradict that completely.
Then this implies that the mutant somehow is able to see inside the body; that's awfully accurate unless said shattered bones happen to be sticking out all over the place?
But, but... you have enhanced eyes! Don't you? /whimper
Even more ooc... I'm new at this, so I hope I'm not just throwing eveyone's chi off-balance. :) Those things just struck me when I re-read it (in addition to what was already posted). :)
All that remained now was a bleak necropolis, extending as far as even a mutant’s enhanced eyes could see.
Dunno who that might be pointing to though.
And of course, this
In the dim light, one could just barely make out all manner of old and forgotten objects filling the space
Then this
The injuries continued on and on, including shattered limbs and ribs.
The mutant knelt down over the wounded woman to get a closer look at the damage done
But, but... you have enhanced eyes! Don't you? /whimper

I've read the above OOC's and some very good points but to me it is more of a time line of who, where and how and motive. So, I'll outline some of my thoughts or items that make me go HMMMMMM???
- The light was dim but initially on when they were gathered in the room whispering.
- Jubilee noticed the light from down the hall, presumably from under the door as she creeps up to listen.
- When the 'Lone' mutant gets there from outside the light is dim. I took it to be daylight or evening for 'HIM' to see the bleak sprawling desolate cityscape even with his 'enhanced' mutant eyes.
- When some return to find her grisly remains and to gather stuff to take, it is mentioned as the light is hanging dead from the ceiling....by the exposed wires.
- If the light was on but dim when the Lone mutant entered and Jubilee was still just barely alive then the BANG was not the light bulb but instead happened just before he got down there.
-------------------------------------------------------
- That implies the 'Bang' was made by someone still in there? My first thought for the 'Bang' went along with the blood spilling from her ears and I thought about the ability to destroy ear drums. But I also thought about the gum spitter, deadly at close range and the small storage room certainly fit that criteria. Then it could have been the phase shifter that can only be heard in but not seen when shifting and I thought about the mention of the plastic. But hey, if we're going to think 'Bang' heck it could have been Ms. toaster hands popping up. If it wasn't the light bulb popping, then someone had enough time to walk out or port out before the Lone mutant got in there...... maybe.
- For the lone mutant originally behind the church several come to mind --
It would appear he either hates mutants or women or both. My first thought would be the womanizer zipper lips who likes pain.....But there was also the part about him dehumanizing and 'standing up' in a military fashion. To stand up before killing Jub implied to me that maybe the mutant power was easier manifested by standing when in close range such as the scythe hands but the part about being a loner and being dehumanized brought me back to the Nanite master.

I thought the suddenly standing to attention was about the SK's transformation to the killer agent.
Temprah

Yeah I thought the standing was their programming kicking in. Now it could be that AND their power is better done while standing..
And the BANG was Jubiliee I assumed.. her powers make fire cracker / expoding sounding noises if you didn't know, it's exploding plasmoids is what she does. A lightbulb popping isn't very loud :p and from what I guessed Tox's shooting things isn't loud either or when she shot her gum and it broke the glass people wouldn' be looking around wondering why water was comming in later.
Now you do bring up a point that the light was on when the SK went in so they are the ones who broke it and left it hanging by wires.. why break the light? What or who does that point to?

seems to me the light is a not that important, it could have gotten dammaged in the fight, the real info comes into play AFTER the SK gets there.. theres alot of mention about how everything seems old and foriegn, so one would assume that the SK is not familiar with antiques or relics or anything like that, also from the way they describe the room as feeling castle like, it seems to make more sense that the person who was looking at this was from europe, since the american mind would think of the brick walls as more 'instuitional' or 'prision like' than castleish..

WOW!
This is my first Mafia, and the level of detail people are pulling out is crazy! I had no idea! LOL
Also, it's always a bit intimidating to walk in and have half the room pointing fingers at you. hehe...
I need to go back and read through the characters again...but I do see how I could be a suspect here!
The him thing definitely points at least more to a certain group here...typo? Intentional misleading? Hrmmm...
Ok...going to investigate. ;) Let's see what I see with my not-so-mutant eyes. Hehe...
