XMEN THE MAFIA - Day 1 : Bloody reflections
"This can't be happening, why would someone do that?" Redd pulled her knees closer to her chest and rested her chin on them. She tried to ignore the left over taste of vomit and clear her head. It had been so horrific, so much blood. Of course she had been scrounging around for things to take, what else was there to do? And to walk in on that.. that.. Best not to think about it anymore. From her point of view now she could see several others moving around, equally as upset and uneasy. "Someone here did that, one of us.. killed one of our own kind. An X-Man even!" She shuddered. "What chance do any of us have? She was trained as part of the greatest.. we're just.. we're doomed."
It took willpower but she resisted the urge to jump up and just run.. right through everyone and everything straight for the Canadian border. She knew better than to think she could make it alone. That meant the murderer had to be found, fast.. and dealt with.
"Hey, how's it going?" he said. "You notice anything weird about that one? I heard he's not even a mutant...that he uses some kind of tech to duplicate our powers and make himself look like us. Sounds kind of strange, don't you think?"
In his mind, the thrum of Sentinel machinery, of "science" made the questions go round and round. If anyone was to blame here, it was the man who would play at being a mutant...
The food did well to clear her head and get her thinking again. She still felt grossly uncomfortable with no weapons to speak of and felt sure others might be missing necessities other than food. After what she hoped was a significant look at Redd, she grabbed a pencil and communion card and wrote on the back of it.
GUM!
Tiny Ball Bearings
A Water Bottle with a straw
Tox dropped the beginnings of the list and the pencil in the midst of the group eating pizza and looked at Redd again. She ventured a half smile, though she wasn't sure the little lady was in such a good mood at the moment.
"What?!" he said turning to regard Jon "He's not a Mutant?! then why is he here amongst us?!" Razor snapped more in general than at Jon himself..
Abruptly he turned and darted on a quick trot to the outer chamber where the others were assembeled, he scanned the faces of the people here.. and settled on Marcus , Razor turned full on to face the stranger that he knew by name only and quickly stalked right up in front of him and in a chilly voice he said "Is it true your not a mutant?!" his metal mask nose to nose with Marcus.
Cutting him off before he had a chance to say anything, "your an accident of technology, advanced technology...maybe Sentinel technology.." the final words came out in a whispered hiss of barely restrained rage..
Now this was good.. dinner and entertainment.. and if that guy really wasn't one of them, "looks like there may be some excersie to work off the carbs.." She began to quickly finish her pizza so it didn't get wasted.
He noticed the woman called Redd, who was watching Razor as well. He nodded to her in greeting, then turned his attention back to the action. Violence wasn't always the answer, but it unfortunately might be the correct one in this situation. Someone had to pay for Jubliee's death, and he was sure the group wasn't going to be safe until the culprits were found out...and they had a long journey ahead.
Others came forward and took turns writing on it. Creeping closer, Birdie timidly peered at what they were doing. It seemed to be a sort of list of needed items. Waiting for a turn she picked up the writing utensil and wrote:
One small coat & scarf. She looked at the girl who had dropped the card and smiled. Going back to eating her pizza she took intrest in a few of the boys who had begun to bicker.
