Discuss :)

I would like to contribute with this:

Vulash (7:28:37 AM): me dying first is just them confirming how much I owned last game
Temprah 20 years ago
I'll comb through for clues again, but it seems there were few.. other than we know there's at least 3 mafia. And they be sneaky sneaky..

From day one:

The room was cold, and water leaked in from outside, where the rain had turned to a dreary snow.

From day two:
and after a while he came to a section of road where the snow, and thus any footprints, was being washed away by moving water, the runoff from some of the slowly melting snow.

I don't know if the mention of water in both scenes means anything; I don't see a connection.

The piece of concrete might mean something...if nothing else it could tell us who the killers are not, but then again they wouldn't there to be any evidence of their powers.

I feel like I'm missing something :\. Though I do think we were right with who we lynched...not 100%, but I think we got a baddie, so this scene might just be light on clues since we got someone.
Temprah 20 years ago
Maybe the concrete means they don't have offensive powers? Or it could be like you said, they were trying to cover it up.. that's what the snow thing means for sure. But is that the mods making the scene or the mafia calling how they do a hit? This is my first time so I don't know how these things go.. =/
Xandare 20 years ago
I saw the mob hit and the lynching and martha was taken out, but that was more for ooc reasons, and its wasnt by the SK..

so there was no SK hit?
Verileah 20 years ago
We'll get the SK hit tomorrow. It goes 2 RL days per 1 Game Day. And it's possible the mafia put in a request to the mods for something specific, but this is probably all coming from the mods.
Dia 20 years ago
are you sure about the sk hit? maybe the voting was right and he was killed off!
Rasberry 20 years ago
In paying homage to the time honored tradition of maintaining a certain level of suspense in whodunnit stories... you'll hafta wait a day to find out if you got the SK or not :)
Temprah 20 years ago
Well could you confirm that the first SK hit is indeed scheduled for tomorrow? So we know when to expect to die heh...
Rasberry 20 years ago
I repeat *clears throat*

If there is an SK hit, it will occur tomorrow, if there's not... then it wont =)

/SIIIIIIIGH make me work fine.....

Jinheim
We're ready to go live with this. The scenario will be up shortly, so here's the schedule:

Wednesday March 11th, Morning: Roles Distributed
Thursday March 12th, Morning: First Kill gets posted (combo SK/mafia kills the throwaway character)
Thursday March 11th, Midnight EST: Votes for first lynch are due, as well as the first set of SKIDs.
Shortly after: We post the first lynch scene.
Friday March 13th, Morning: First Mafia hit.

Saturday March 14th, Morning: First SK hit.

Saturday March 14th, Midnight EST: Second round of lynch vote and SKIDS

etc...

So looks like we don;t get to lynch again until tomorrow night, after the SK hit (assuming we.. or the mafia.. or the dawgs.. didn't kill the SK)

My initial observation about today's hit was that the person was asphyxiated. With snow.

I dunno, but that would probably have been something I wouldn't have thgought to do. I wouldn't have thought it could work, either.

Can you pile enough snow on top of someone so that it's enough to kill them before they melt it with breath, yet little enough that their 'residual body heat' can melt it off after they're dead? My point being, that even if unconscious, they're still gonna be breathing and therefore, exhaling warm air. Therefore, you'd need enough snow to cover their nostrils and mouth for long enough that even as they melt it, they cannot melt it fast enough to obtain oxygen. Ergo, there is a substantial amount of snow on them at the time of death. However, the face is not a part of the body known for its heat-retaining properties. Even the mouth, when stuffed with something clod such as an ice cube, or a double-fistful and/or several fists full of snow, will cool down. In fact, cooling down the mouth tends to cool down the entire body faster.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it (is that even possible in this game?) but I think the entire death is kinda fishy. :P

Here's something else that stuck out for me:

He then heard a noise from behind him, and turned in time to see two mutants come around the corner from a side street, and walk towards him.

And then, when we come across the corpse later:

When another pair of footprints came from a side street and joined the first two, Sabertooth’s curiosity was piqued.

So, when Joel was standing at the end of the footsteps he followed, he saw two mutants come around a corner from a side street. But only one of those mutants left footprints, according to what we saw when we arrived later.

Yes? No? Is there anyone among us who can potentially cause themselves to not leave a footprint?
Temprah 20 years ago
That would be me who can do that yep.. *however* I want to point out that when Redd is phaseshifted so as not to leave prints, she isn't visable. When she's visable she isn't phased.
Blackrabbit 20 years ago
Teehee... sorry, didn't mean to point fingers (well, not yet anyway!). That part of the reading just kinda jumped out at me. I don't really know what to do with the information, since I kinda stink at this. /grins.

I guess I should play my own Devil's Advocate and point out that it would be easy enough for me to create an illusory mutant who wouldn't leave a footprint because he/she wouldn't actually be there. That being said, I'm pretty sure that not only has my character not actually displayed her abilities, but that she's been with the group the whole time... and her abilities do not extend to creating illusions half a mile away. :P
MEC 20 years ago
I could probably do that, and zone would also be likely able to.
Temprah 20 years ago
heh True it could be you!!!! *points finger* =p

When another pair of footprints came from a side street and joined the first two, Sabertooth’s curiosity was piqued

But that comment means that there were 2 sets of footprints cause pair = 2 :D
Verileah 20 years ago
Nice catch imo, going to have to take another look about exactly how that part went. I interpretted differently when I read it the first time.
Verileah 20 years ago
Okay, on a second look the scene reads like everyone involved made footprints. The first pair are the killer's and Joel's, and the second pair are the other two killers'.

However, this begs the question, where did the mutant who was suddenly behind Joel come from. Was he/she there all along in some other form? Hidden somehow?

He spun around and met the mutant's eyes. Joel is on the shortish side I thought, so maybe looking at someone close to his height with good hiding abilities will shed some light on the issue. Perhaps the fact that he backed up against "something solid" means something as well.

Edit: Okay, after a look at the character chart what I'm seeing is that that the height/ability deduction doesn't narrow it down much at all.

Dour expressions also doesn't narrow it down at all.

This stuff could point to anyone :(.
Blackrabbit 20 years ago
Hrm... well this could simply be misunderstanding, but I interpret one pair of footprints to = two feet. One pair of pants, one pair of gloves, one pair of shoes, and one pair of footprints. In a litarary sense, generally when referring to parts of the body that come in twos, you refer to them as pairs; hence a pair of footprints would have been left by one person.

Can a mod clear up the confusion here, or are we supposed to muddle this one out? :/
