I thought the rumors of Jake Lloyd playing Ender were far more amusing.
Orson Scott Card -claimed- he is being paid to write a script and he must write a script before he works on other projects because he is, after all, a professional.
However, he said this in...*thinks* 2001 or 2002, at EnderCon (yes I am a nerd). He has since finished the Women of Genesis series, Magic Street, the 6th (?) Alvin book, and two more Shadow books.
At this rate, m2 and Gilae's kid will be eligible to star in the movie. As Graff. At any rate, if I recall correctly OSC is getting some help with the script now. Wolfgang Peterson is supposedly going to direct. Warner Bros has supposedly taken on the project. I say supposedly because there's always a way to get out of a contract if things aren't working out; if Warner Bros changes hands or something, a new owner could give the project the axe. So in my mind there aren't any absolutes until a script is finished. I might get excited about an EG movie if "THE SCRIPT IS FINISHED" is plastered all over my screen.
I very much enjoyed the first and last of the shadow books. The others were worth it for the enjoyment I got from one and two, but are not among my top favorites of all time. The Speaker books I loved from beginning to end

. Ryala is right, they are not as exciting, but I enjoyed them just the same. OSC is considering writing a book that deals with Ender on the colonies that would tie the two series together.
At any rate, Pastwatch is a great read on its own, just don't hold your breath for more. The book stands on its own perfectly fine anyway.
