/sigh, yes he's an affiliate. blah blah. I KID! I encourage everyone to go take a peek, I'll be doing so myself. I've never done the table top thing though, well once when i was like 7 but I dont think that counts. :-o

So only table top RP's or all RP's?

Well, TAC here has a nice MMORPG forum already...and Wanderer's Haven is focusing on published works...but, then again, I suppose LARP's could be added over on WH, if anyone discusses those...

Yah...I have some friends that LARP...I've gone and watched them before, but have never participated. I'm not sure I could do it seriously, without just laughing every time someone shouted LIGHTNING BOLT at me. I'd just stand there like Neo, and say "No." Then pummel them with my sword. :P

I mean, it looks like they're having fun...but then again, they do it in a big park in the middle of the city...and there's all these people walking by...it'd be distracting, to say the least. Hehe...

I think Larping gets a bad rep because of that one online video that was put out with the chubby guys running around. =x Although I'm not sure i'd do it if that had been Brad Pitt yelling LIGHTNING BOLT!

As far as LARPing goes...I have to admit, I'd love to go up into the mountains with some friends and play a game or something...beat each other with swords, try to beat some kind of plot, etc. I'm just kind of a private gamer...I couldn't handle going to a park and LARPing, hehe...

Vampire LARPs generally aren't quite as silly looking but I still felt odd the one or two times I went there to play with a friend of mine. At least the rented an area for the night and it was always on just them. Besides with a bunch of vampires.. It mostly looked like a bunch of goths wandering around in groups bored. :winky

I have a friend that lives in a different town...he was doing a Vampire LARP for awhile until it ended...they live in a city of hippies and stuff...so it's a bunch of goth people running around pretending to be vamps, all over the city. Sounded like a lot of fun, and a good way to freak out the locals. *snickers* Then, you have to feed on civilians...so you just walk up and stand next to people. If they leave before a certain amount of time has elapsed, your feeding was unsuccessful. *evil grin* Unless, of course, you just wanna jump someone. LOL

I guess he would tell them, "Look, this is hard to explain, but I'm playing a game, and I need you to just stand there for a minute." He'd get some strange looks apparently. :lol:

This is the oldest Vampire LARP in Atlanta. They rent out a community center for the evening and have that entire grounds to themselves for the night. I don't know what they do about feeding, I didn't play a vampire. My friend convinced me to come play as his ghoul.

i ran into Vampire LARP's at origin's game convention a few years back when i was down there for the US nationals for MTG. Was intresting to say the least. From what i have seen don't think i could do any LARP'n thou.

I once knew a girl who told me she used to do a vampire larp...until one of the guys told her in a very non-roleplay-ey kinda way that he wanted to taste her blood while he was fucking her and he started stalking her. She stopped playing after that.

Eeww... Damn psychos. They ruin all the fun stuff for us NON-psycho gamers.

Jeez, when I started playing D&D when I was eight, my mom was all worried that I was WORSHIPPING SATAN and stuff, cause the media had stool pigeoned the game so badly.

I mean, yah, now the Dark Lord IS a normal facet of my life, but...*shrugs*...who knew?
