Well typically when a number is specifically mentioned in an opening hit that refers to the amount of mafia there are. In this case - 4
Thats all I see atm. We also know from teh first scene that one of the mafia has a lightsaber. I only see 2 bio's with lightsabers so I'll be holding my vote a bit to see if someone else sees something, but it will be for one of those 2. I'm leaning towards Keshel. Early votings suck! :D

I caught the reference to number 4 too. And I was also noting the lightsaber references. :) I have nothing new to add except agreement in the previous assessment that early votings suck!

Ok, sorta going out on a limb here but I thought that maybe the reference to the foot locker thing and the fact that Kashaal punched a foot locker might be a hint?
Or maybe it's only coincidence... but I can't really find any big clues anywhere so I started nitpicking. :/

I unfortunately have a funeral to go to and with the earlier hand in time for me sine I am in PST I will probably miss it *sigh So I am going to post my vote on the ideas above for now but if I get back and things have changed or new info I will change!
Good luck all!

Ok, so there's reference to "4", and to lightsabers. Manotas Jettster and I are the only ones listed with lightsabers that I noticed.
Now, in the opening hit, where Kam dies, it talks about hearing the hiss of lightsabers, plural. That means that either both Manotas and I are Mafia, or all of those lightsabers came from one person. It's true that I do own two lightsabers, one my own, and the other my master's. However, I don't carry both with me, as is seen in the scene where I confronted Brother. The other is with my belongings in my room. Manotas carries four lightsabers, and uses all four.
Four. Lightsabers.
Claiming my own innocence may do no good...but I know I was in my own room when Sebri was murdered, and in the common area when Kam was killed. References to four may not have referred to only the number of murderers (Mafia), but also the number of lightsabers.
May the Force help us bring the culprit to justice...

I also think it's possible (and likely) that the presence of lightsabers is not intended to be a clue. It's just as possible that the mafia were given lightsabers by Vader and snuck them here without telling anyone. Furthermore:
The snap-hiss of other lightsabers heralded his doom.
That makes it pretty clear that there were a plural number of lightsabers, in addition to the one held by the speaker. Thus, at least three and probably all four of the mafia have lightsabers. Thus, they have more sabers than you yourself could have provided. However, I still think that the mafia were all given their sabers before coming here, and that this is irrelevant.
Also, I am curious why no lightsabers were used in Day 2's hit. Also, if the victim wasn't killed with lightsabers, then what were they killed with? Since she has no signs of trauma or any external injuries, I am inclined to believe that she was killed with the force. There are only two people with force training here: You and Manotas Jettster.
Another thing:
Instinctually she lashed out through the force, hurling the small footlocker at the head of one of those around her. The attacked seemed effective, but only spurned the others into action.
This whole passage seems out of place and akward, which makes me think it is included as a clue. I can't think of any other reason for this paragraph to be included, or for why the object was a footlocker. So far, the only person to have any interaction with a footlocker is you. This seems pretty circumstantial, but apparantly that is the kind of clue we're looking for.
I also feel that your character bio paints you as a very troubled individual who would be more likely than most to be seduced to the dark side, and thus a natural choice for recruitment by Darth Vader.
All these factors combined with your eagernes to get a specific person lynched on Day 1 makes you one of my prime suspects for mafia.

I agree that the 2nd day Mafia hit was strange...I can think of no Force ability that would have left no damage, either externally or internally. Force lightning burns, the chokey thing Vader does would leave damage on the interior of the throat if not bruising the exterior.
I don't know, I'm at a loss to explain that one...
You could be right about Vader slipping lightsabers to the other Mafia previous to their insertion onto Kessel, but I don't think so...I think it's either myself or Manotas.
And with my persistance for the first lynching, it's what I felt was the right course of action. As of yet, no one else has died today...perhaps I was correct?

It's possible. The way I see it, there are two ways it could be going:
1) Geeii is late posting the kill. This is very likely because he is prone to do things like that. Geeii has not logged on AIM since 6am, so who knows where he is. If the SK kills someone, that means you got a townie lynched, although it is feasible that it could still be an honest mistake.
2) You are right, and Veri was the SK. If Veri is the SK, that means that things like the presence of the word "vessel" in both her character bio and in the kill scene are the kind of clues we are looking for. This makes the use of a footlocker VERY damning evidence, and you need to be lynched immediately.

I am confused as to your motivation behind this bit. Why are you so eager to press that the Jedi's having lightsabers is a clue? A lightsaber is something that every Jedi is going to have, and with all the Jedi that Vader has killed, he is certainly going to have plenty of them laying around. Also, from an ooc perspective, lightsabers are a staple of any Jedi and Geeii probably didn't even think about where they came from.
It seems to me that a townie would be more willing to reassess their initial assumption. I think you have an agenda to get townies lynched.

Well I think to be objective here.. the lightsabers could be a clue. One of you seems to be very for it and the other very against it.. both could have honest or dishonest reasons.
easily forgettable
exposure to death and the Dark Side
alone (over and over)
guide
refuge
admiral job
street-fighter
footlocker
administered'
These are the words that stood out as interesting to me.
easily forgettable.. human perhaps? We have a lot of those
Exposure.. I think several people mention having been exposed to the dark side.
alone is used over and over again.. does this point to anything? Maybe the orphan?
guide- a padawan would have a guide.. that would go back to the two who were trained.
Admiral job.. admirable.. the mispelling made me think of the one who
was a senator. but I'm sure its just a typo.
Street fighter - one character lived on the streets
footlocker- the mention of the footlocker.. though I don't think that was in his bio but an RP instead.. so is it likely to be used?
Administered - Makes me think of the senator
So basically all over the place and then some.

Or perhaps I'm a townie that really wants to bring down the Mafia? You blame me of finger pointing, yet I note yours jabbed directly in my face. Perhaps you are Mafia, and trying to bring down the one that's pointing out your conspirators?

Administered looks perfectly normal when put into context with the rest of the sentence. And it also seems like "admiral" is definatly a typo given its context. "She had begun to regret the path that had taken her hear." Another typo that could be a clue?
I'm also not seeing how "guide" would be much of a clue. Again, given the context, she needed someone to teach and guide her.
Street-fighter was describing how she fought, not her attacker.
I think that the light sabers are playing a huge roll in this. There being 4 confuses the hell out of me since 4 haven't even been mentioned in the bio's, much less in the roleplay that has happend since they were written. If the mafia had been given lightsabers, wouldn't theywrite it into their stories for RP purposes? Sorry if I sound off, but it's new to me and I'm not entirely sure how that works. I always thought if you had an item, you roleplayed like you had it.
(more of a formality for the station than anything, for little security could be administered in a place full of bounty hunters, smugglers, and other nerfarious creatures).

It sent her careening and she did an admiral job of recovering her wits and dropping into a fighting stance, less reminiscent of her parent's practiced movements and more akin to that of a street-fighter.

If you look at Manotas' profile, it says he has four lightsabers, which he picked up to defend himself from Anakin Skywalker at the Jedi Temple...

His ears flat against his head, Kashaal watched as the others mounted their case against him. He stood tall, proud, unworried.
His voice rumbling, he talked over them calmly.
"You see my eagerness to bring murderers to justice as my guilt. You see my ability to find what your blindness cannot see proof of my guilt."
Shaking his head, his gaze took in all those around him.
"Murder has been done. And perhaps Brother's violent end was murder too. If he was not guilty, then it was my fault for pointing my finger. I feel it inside, however, that he was. My mind is clear."
Slowly he reached for his lightsaber, aware the tension in the crowd may erupt into violence at any moment...violence toward him.
He turned to face Daynn Tavira, to whom he handed the weapon of the Jedi.
"When I die, it may be your face is the last I see. I hope you make my death a clean one, worthy of a Jedi. I know that the Force will take me, but I fear for where it may take some of you."
Looking about one last time, he turned to leave the room.
"I will be meditating, when you decide. The door will be unlocked...I do not fear you."

It appears that Kashaal stands firm of his innocence. But I can't look away from the "footlocker" reference. And even though I see and understand the other clues and that they point to others as well... I can not look away from the fact that Kashaal seems very willing to point an angry finger first.

Not that it matters anymore, but with Verileah not being the SK, then the word reference wasn't the clue...therefore "footlocker" may not be either...
