Hi
Been a while, but I've been quite busy. Third term, and we're doing corporate stuff. Kind of frustrating, but I'd like to know what you think of the following logo:
Pulsarts
This is for project management, and the prof wants me to conceptualize a company image in case I decide to start up my own business. Hence the importance of an effective logo.
I mainly used the Amerika Sans typeface for a modern feel, and played around with it in Illustrator, like the picks between 'l' and 's', and 'r' and 't'. Do you think they add a distinctive flair, or should I remove them altogether?
I also used the Alienator typeface for the spikey swirl. Traced over the outline, and placed it inside the 'P' and 'a' instead of the bland 'o' that came with Amerika Sans.
Finally, I applied an outer glow around the letters, red for 'P' and 'a' because it's a warm colour and I want it to stand out, and blue for the rest, a complementary cold colour.
The image “http://vividreams.net/v-web/gallery/albums/album07/pulsartstent.jpg†cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Last try, then I give up. Shows fine on my iMac, don't know what the problem is
Haven't turned it in yet, I have a catalogue to do for Friday, describing the logo and its acceptable variations, like B&W, B&W inverted, against coloured backgrounds, etc. Against coloured backgrounds, I was thinking of making the glow white with higher opacity on the 'P' and 'a' to generate a pulse effect.
I also have to use the logo for my business card, letterhead, invoice and contract. Looks pretty simple, but I've been told the business world likes short and sweet, with enough distinctiveness to make it original. Tried adding some graphical elements around it, but end up with too much clutter.
