Slowpokes. :(

Email it to yourself. Or PM. That's how I transfer most of the stuff I do at work over to my own comp.

I run into the same problem though, as I use hotmail. The security onthe sites logs me out from the site and so when I do send, it doesn't actually send and I have to start over.

Most the time it is fine, cause the timers are long and if it isn't SUPER busy I can take breaks to help customers and send it; sometimes though, if it is real busy or I am working on a particularly long post (or both) i lose it.

If its going to be long, start it as a pm to yourself instead.
Geeii 20 years ago
but the pm logs you out as well..

actually the big problem wasn't how long it was taking it was that I was EDITING a post instead of posting a new one, I just realized. Becasue even when you get logged and and go back it has all our text, *but* when you edit your post and get logged out, you have a lot more problems.

I dont even know what you're talking about. I never lose posts, you seem to lose them all the time. =/

edit your last post, wait 3 hours cause of traffic in and out, and lcick 'post' at the end, the phpbb have code that logs inactive users out, and you lose your post. I promise =)

Well if it keeps doing that to you, G, dont do it anymore? /smack!

I actually used to have a big problem with forums timing out a bit back when my connection went to hell. Notepad became my friend. Now I type everything in notepad and then only copy it into the post / email when I am fully done. No saving needed unless you plan on shutting down or crashing the comp.

Same here... all things are done in a wordpad, spellchecked (usually) and then posted. Wordpad is your friend!!!

I remember when the old RP forum we were on timed out all the time, long posts gone. :-o We quickly learned the value of the wordpad, plus multiple characters and replies could be kept track of easier..and I had quite a few at one time. Not as many as -some- people I know though.

Before i preview or even move my mouse again, I select all and copy. I've lost stuff from accidentally hitting back instead of preview again to see my changes. Copy is your friend.

I do what they said.

The voices? Me too. :-o

I didn't have that many characters! Just... twelve. That's nothing.

Yes, I've become anal about spellchecking posts before posting myself. Not normally on regular forums unless a word looks really long to me, but when RPing, always.

I would like to say that I don't listen to the voices, but they certainly don't listen to me, so I guess I am out of luck.

I don't believe everything the voices say...but they do have some pretty good ideas. :winky (yep, ganked that from a bumper sticker...where truth and humor is often found)

Bumper Sticker: We have enough youth, how about a fountain of smart.

Woohooo for the fountain of Smart!

Or for those with those honor roll stickers....

My kid sold your honor roll students the answers to the test.

I liked "My Kid is Sleeping with your Honor Roll Student"
There's a certain feeling of a Legacy of Miscreance to it.

On the posting topic, I find that having a short time out and having to do your own spellchecking turns the process from a mundane chore to an exciting challenge, like a game show but without the fabulous cash and prizes, except of course for that glorious prize of the satisfaction of a job well done!
