The model I'm working on (somewhat big pics)
I'm working on making a model completely from wireframe...no Poser, no Bryce, just vertices.
I started with a blank gray cube, and from it built the face, neck, chest, torso, and now legs...it's coming along nicely!
And yes...only one leg and butt cheek is done (left one). The other is a gumby leg right now.
And just so you can see what I'm working with...think of a cube, with its 8 vertices, turning into this:

That's hilarious but impressive! Is it as difficult as it looks and what program are you using? Is this the blender one you're always talking about?

Yes, I did this in Blender. It's free!
And in this case, yeah, it's very difficult. I've spent at least 30 hours on this model so far, shaping him one vertex at a time.

its very timeconsuming at least
i ended up modelling my heads, then using premade bodies and just altering the anatomy to get what i wanted.
its alot of work but its addicting

He's looking awesome! That you made him out of a grey cube is pretty fantastic. All the dots scare me O_O
Can blender be used to make objects for poser? I had thought at some point to make a naginata for Mai in bryce, I'm just not sure how easy that will be, its been a while since I've tried to make a weapon using it.

dunno about blender, but in 3ds it wouldnt be hard to create a simple object like a weapon. creating a character for poser would be kinda difficult i guess. having to set up a bone structure and everything for the mesh

It can be done, yes. I've made weapons in Blender before...I made the wiz epic and shadowknight 1.5 epic as well...a couple others, I think.

You must have some hella patience! That looks like it would be really hard to do! I can't wait to see what you do with it when you're done

Thanks for the info, Las
I'm not sure I have the patience for even the weapon, there is probably no possible way I'd make a character for poser. I don't know how you guys do that without going nuts....but then maybe you don't...

Is that like trying to lick your elbow?
I can't even imagine the sort of patience one must have to do something like this *is in awe*
...
No, Cali! You do not want to try this! I said NO!! *sits on hands* >.<

Ooh, making an offer I can't refuse. That's evil. Just what I need, something else to drive me nuts... er, nutser. XD
All right. Why not. Love learning new things

Download it and play with it, run some tutorials...remember that space brings up your toolbar, where you can add shapes. Right click selects vertices. Tab goes in and out of edit mode. shift + right click selects multiple vertices.
When you have something selected, r rotates, s scales, g moves. After pressing r, s, or g, you can press x, y, or z to make it do those things ONLY on that axis.
Don't forget about u, to undo things! That happens in edit mode. Also, pressing z shows your wireframes as solid. Press z again to go back to wireframe mode.
Whew, that's a bunch of stuff! Try to get the hang of it a bit...and I can show you some much coller stuff.
Oh, one more thing...in edit mode, b allows you to select multiple vertices with a square, b twice lets you select with a circle. a selects all vertices, a again unselects all vertices.
