:?

Gonna have to go with the guppy this time, Ethyl. I realize the tartar sauce and fishsticks are a little too obvious but I'm not picking up on anything else at the moment. First kill is always guesswork anyway I guess. Shrug.

Votes close in one hour. Please vote.

Well that came outta left field. I actually didn't see anything in that kill that even remotely suggested a purple-haired half-snake holo-porn worker.

In fact, I didn't see much of anything in it that led me to any kind of definitive conclusion.

That said, since I don't feel there was really much to go on there anyhow, I will cancel your vote and vote for Aniyah.

Cheers! :)

I am reluctantly voting for Matilda.

After bouncing back between character profiles and the crime scene I'm going to have to go with Sage.

The green references stuck out to me more then the fishsticks, and I am not getting anything else out of it.

Ethyl Murmur swam happily in the olympic-sized fish tank located in the amphibious wing of the Hiltondorf Continental. When she made one lap near the surface of the tank, she noticed that many air-breathing beings were clustered around the rim of the tank, watching her swim. She swam closer to see what they wanted.

All of a sudden, a large flake of something delicious-looking splashed onto the water near her head, and Ethyl happily devoured it. She was pleased to discover that it tasted just as wonderful as it looked. It had turned out to be flavored like vanilla bean ice cream. Another flake landed by her head, and she realized that they were being tossed in by the beings surrounding the tank. She ate this flake, and found it to be flavored like a pizza with the works (minus the anchovies, of course). Another flake landed, and then another. She devoured them all happily, amazed at the vast array of flavors being presented. The flakes kept coming and coming, faster and faster. She had to eat more and more just to keep up, and they were just too delicious: she couldn't stop herself.

Two hours later, Ethyl was dead, bloated, and floating belly-up at the top of the tank. The healing and rejuvinating waters that she had had imported had done much to heal her and prolong her agony, but the damage done had been too great.

Qixa, returning from a little rendezvous with the hot waiter, noticed as men with giant skimmers hovered around the huge fish bowl. She caught a whiff of what might have been sushi before she realized what was going on.

Covering her mouth with a delicate hand, she quickly slithered by, determined to think twice about entering her next sushi bar.

Another crowd was forming around that guppie thing tank. 'Hmm,' Roz thought as she strolled up to it. Taking another bite of her tuna fish sandwich, she peeked over someone's shoulder.

Her eyes widened and she looked at her sandwich. 'Oh MAN!', and stomped her foot as she turned to look for somewhere to spit out her food. She flung her sandwich skyward and utilized someone's large purse instead.

Qixa was halted suddenly as her purse was yanked rudely off her shoulder. She turned, fists ready, to beat the purse-snatcher about the ears, but when she realized what purpose it had been grabbed for she quickly slid backwards.

Holding her hands up she shook her head, purple hair flying about her shoulders. "You can keep it," she said hurriedly. "I, uh, have a spare purse. That one just had some uh, toys... yeah, it had some toys in it. You can keep them!"

Turning a most becoming shade of light green, Qixa slithered off to her room.

Roz looked into the purse and tilted her head to the side. 'Is that...oh...,' she closed the purse and yelled after the slithering thing. 'See, that's just not right.' She took a final peek into the purse, twisting it around, looking at the toys within.

'Oh that's naughty,' and blushed.

Zipper hung back in the shadows of a table, watching the milling uprights. Tiny, beady eyes spied them scooping out a floaty thing from the large fish tank. They grew their own seafood? His whiskers twitched in response. He didn't like seafood. Pastries were his thing. Yes, those were much more likable.

He stuck his pointy nose in the air, sniffing in what could be considered a delicate manner for a rat. He caught the scent of something freshly baked, making his mouth water and his fur shiver in delight. With luck it would be accompanied by fresh cream and nuts. Maybe even a strawberry or two.

Tail twisted as far away from the ground as possible to minimise the risk of it getting stepped on, he pattered on off to find grub.

"Food for the Fishes"
Cindy wrote down on her notepad while muttering to herself about this tragic accident. It was an accident right? Or suicide? Death by over eating... She pondered the possibilities as she walked.

Unfortunately walking, writing and thinking weren't her strong suit (which is how she managed to end up under Pollex's vehicle in the first place) Cindy tripped on a bright purple and green polka dotted water wing and ended up in the pool.

She came up sputtering and grabbed the nearest thing she could find, which happened to be a mattress. Splashing around until she found her notes, Cindy stowed these away in her soggy pocket and thrust a now drenched press hat back on her head.

"Ah, thanks." She said to the object she was now floating on. So nice of it to be handy like that. This writing work was turning out to be harder than she thought.

"No trouble at all." Zem vollumed, sending bubbles through the water as it did. "I was looking for company."

Zem worked up enough strength to lift itself part way off the surface of the water, curling up and over to regard its visitor with eyes like dinner plates.

"I've been globbering here all alone for days."

Even this brief statement proved too much effort for Zem in its current position, and it gave up with a heavy smacking flollop, splashing water everywhere as it returned to a more practical resting position.

Cindy's eye widened at the mattress that turned out to be another guest at the hotel. Ooops. She hoped he didn't file a complaint that would go on her record. He seemed to take it well though. Patting him reassuringly, She slid off and moved to the edge of the pool.

"Thanks again. So uhm... Enjoying the hotel?" Just as well make use of this unexpected dive into the water and get an interview out of the way. Cindy went to pull out her pen and paper only to realize the pen was lost and yes, the paper was still quite soggy.
