First off, wow, you're good at painting hair (I am le sux).
OK, Ben - overall, the image is looking a little flat. He could use some ultrahighlights on his highlights and the gold jewelry needs the same. Don't overdo it, just little bits to bring up the shine. His philtrum (little dip above the lips) seems kind of exaggerated and I would suggest smoothing it out some unless that's a specific trait of the character. I'd also brighten up the highlights in his eyes.
Kira - lovely job with the red shading. Yes, the hair could use the *slightest* bit more texture - here I would suggest a teensy bit more lowlights and some small ultrahighlights. The eyebrows are a bit bright - remember they are usually about one shade darker than the hair. Also, they could use some texture so they don't look so smooth. Somehow I feel he needs shiny lips.

Ooh, first post here, scary. All right, you have permission to CC the hell out of me. I want to get better, so teach me what I am doing wrong. These are two of my AEA characters and they are already broken down into av size so I can see the (almost) end result.
First of we have Ben. This is version 4 and I'm thinking I am nearly done on him. At least I fixed as I could find wrong with him. Anyone else have a suggestion to make him better?
Credits: M3, I forgot which texture I used ^^, hair, crappy jewellry and bad attempt at clothing all my own fault. Ravnheart's heavenly hair brushes were used liberally on his hair.
Then we have Kira. Yes, he is supposed to look kinda girly, he's one of those effiminate guys and a half elf to boot *ponders resizing so the pointy ear shows*. Looking at him now I'm thinking his eyelashes need more body and darkening. The frame needs to be totally redone, wtf was I think? Something seems wrong with the eyebrows, but I am not sure what to do there. Darken, perhaps? Smooth them out? Add more texture? Then we have the hair... red hair is such a pain to highlight! Needs more texture, yes?
He is a first version, I will be fixing him anyway, but the way I see it the more I fix first round, the sooner it'll be done, so hit me with all that needs correcting.
Credits: M3, Texture was... Pia for V3, I think. What? The boy textures didn't work for him! More Ravnheart brushes on the hair to add movement.

I'm not sure about more highlights on Ben's hair because he has black hair. More is likely to make it look grey. Possibly give him more shadows to make the highlights that are there stand out and make his hair look blacker. Which should be a fun task on your dark monitor.

As far as Kira goes, I agree with what she said about the eyebrow needing to be slightly darker. I add two colours to mine and then smudge. The hair is so pretty *plays with it* Ok,I'll stop. He does need more to his eyelashes or they need to be smoothed out one. Which would probably make him look like he's wearing eyeliner. ( as I recall though, he has done this at least once) I didn't think you could top the Kira on the RD base but you did! *pets again*

Haha, I had the jewellery as bright yellow the first time around, that was worse. I can attempt metallic shine. Ah, the eyes. I had not thought about that, but now you mention it, it seems super obvious. Which is funny, I normally like mucking with their eyes. Will see what I can do about the lip.
Kira says he wore it only once. Not to be confused with the tall, dark and brooding one, who takes way too much time in the bathroom prettying up for someone who supposedly doesn't like looking at himself in the mirror. He is also vetoing the shiny lips, apparently he has enough trouble with the bigger boys trying to kick his ass without giving them a reason to think he's wearing lipstick.

I will acknowledge no reminder to the RD base. Such an av never existed. If you continue mentioning it, I will be forced to switch my msn icon to TEP! (not that I have a picture of Tep, but I can not think of anything more horrifying than that on such short notice. I will recreate Tep if I have to, but you will suffer.) ^_~
We'll see about posting again ^.^ I tend not to like anything I make and mostly do not want to have to see it again XD We all got issues here.
