Good Parents imo

I went and saw The Devil's Rejects tonight with some friends. The movie came out last night so the theatre was relatively crowded. A young couple with their daughter ended up sitting next to me. Right away i was like, "what the fuck" The little girl was prolly 4-5 years old or so. For those that dont know, this movie was written/directed by Rob Zombie and it's pretty excessive as far as language, gore, nudity, and all around sexuality go. It was bad enough that I'd say around 20-25 people left during the course of the movie because it was too much. So im sitting here looking at this little girl and wondering if she's old enough to understand the type of shit that's going to be shown in the movie. Sure enough 10 minutes into the movie she starts crying and asks to leave. I expect her parents to agree, but they just told her to be quiet and kept watching the movie. The entire movie this girl sat there with her eyes covered crying and begging to leave while her parents ignored her. Looking at this little girl so upset pretty much made me lose it. I leaned over to the father who was sitting next to me and recommend he take her home. He told me (loud enough for his daughter to hear), "Mind your own fucking business you stupid cunt." I lost it, stood up and clocked him in the face (I know it was problably the worse thing i could do.) It seemed to knock some sense into the idiot who finally got up and left with his family.

I know i shouldnt have hit him..but why are people like this allowed to keep their children. It just freakin pissed me off :(

anyway sorry to ramble bai

Oh my...

I mean my parents let me watch pretty much anything R rated with them while I was growing up, but with in reason. And it was only movies I voiced interest in watching, if I didn't watch it I wasn't forced too.

Man...there are limits to stuff like that. If you can't get a babysitter for your kid just DON"T GO! It will be out on dvd sooner or later, you can rent it then.

I would have smacked him too. Just like the people that bring infants to action movies. I'm like, "You know it's going to get outrageously loud in here?"

Wow.
My 5 year old watches some odd shit, and some stuff I know other people wouldn't agree with. But I have -never- made him sit through anything he didn't want to.

I say kudos to you for clockin the dick, he deserved it.

Good for you!

We've taken our youngest to action movies when she was a baby, but only during nap time. K can sleep through anything...example She slept through Spiderman...that's right Spiderman. She also slept through the first Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars I. Now our oldest on the other hand...we packed her off to Nana's she never slept through anything.

Mostly I just can't believe they took a child of cognitive age to a movie she would have zero trouble understanding, not to mention -that- movie. I mean it's one thing to take them to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where they -know- it's pretend, because of the colors and singing, but that shit looks real. I feel sorry for that little girl.

So I shouldn't take my kids to Mr. And Mrs. Smith, huh? Damn.

*shakes head* Maybe I am old fashioned... but my kids (they are 6, 4, and 3) Aren't even allowed to watch certain cartoons at home due to the violence and suggestive nature...

I would clocked him one too... good job.

obviously these parents dont care, but they have no idea what they are doing to their kid. in 15 years, that kid is going to have severe psychological disorders.

and im not talking about homicidal tendencies.

I saw Alien at 6 but seriously...those Rob Zombie movies are hellacious. That's just fucking sick and although it wasn't right to hit the guy, he fucking deserved it. Good job, Blazyn.

I think watching some dude punch her father in the face was probably as traumatic to her as the movie was... but, it needed to be done.

Good job.

I have a feeling I know the story behind the guy you clocked...and it does suck. I know why he responded to you in the way that he did...and it sucks that he felt he had to be that way.

And you did the right thing, under the circumstances. ;)

Did he try to hit you back, or did he just take it like a bitch?

Its sad when the kid is crying wanting to go and they make her watch shit she shouldn't be.

Thank you for hitting him.
