SOE sucks ass
Dear EverQuest Subscriber,
In mid-May, 2005, we advised you via email, patch message and website announcement that the EverQuest subscription rates would be increasing in June, 2005. We announced that the new pricing would be:
1 Month: $14.99
3 Month: $41.97
6 Month: $77.94
12 Month: $143.88
Due to a billing error, SOE undercharged you on any subscription cycles that were processed since the new pricing went into effect. Accordingly, SOE will be processing a one-time additional charge to your credit card for the difference. This small additional charge will appear on your next credit card statement.
Thank you for your understanding; we sincerely apologize for our error. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact customer service

Good customer service says you suck it up, tell the customer what happened, and charge the right amount next time. But then again SOE has never been know for good customer service.

Back when I used the prepaid game cards they fucked up and my 90 day card lasted 9 months. They did not catch it til they released a new expansion then I got the Email saying I would have to renew, because it was a game card they had to eat the money owed, hah!!

Yup, X ands mine's accounts are the dual ones for 1 & 2 so not affected, but we also pay for my bro in law's account that's just EQ1 and I just saw a couple dollar charge for it, he didn't bother to forward me the email so I'm glad you posted this /sigh

There is a thread about a simular issue on Emarr boards. Except some people that took the specil $99 a year rate are getting charged an extra 50 dollars. SOE's reason is something alone the lines of a billing mistake, as in the email that Vex posted.
One guy, in the same situation as Vex, went and filled out a complaint with his bank. The teller said he was the third guy that day to do the same thing. He was making the point that it wasn't the money, but the principal of the matter.

OFF TOPIC ... Hey, since the sever merges, are EMarr and MT using the same message board too?
I played on EMarr. I started out on Vazaelle (SUCKED), then transferred. MT was my second choice if I hadn't gone to EMarr. I hung out on both community forums. Really nice people on those two servers back then. It's a funny coincidence that they ended up getting merged.
