AAAGGGH!!!!

No, I closed Poser 6 when I got the out of memory message.. It gives it to me again when I tried to save as it closed, then I reopened Poser and then the file and the file is completely empty in the preview with no figures or props and renders blank. I didn't think until just now to try and open it in P4 but I doubt it will work.. When I opened Poser and found the blank file I checked and the last render displayed was not the most recent one I had done so it wasn't saved apparently. I guess trying to save the file somehow screwed it up?

Is there a way to increase the amount of memory I allocate to Poser? Several times as I am using it the whole PC slows down and barely responds, I checked and the memory usage of P6 alone was over 273,000.

How much physical RAM do you have? (Right click My Computer, Properties, General tab)

How much virtual memory do you have activated? (Right Click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Advanced, Paging file size at the bottom)

How much free hard drive space do you have? (Double click My Computer, right click C:, Properties, Free space)

When was the last time you defragged completely? (Disable the Paging Memory, reboot in Safe Mode by tapping F8 when you boot, then defrag, reboot, reenable Paging, reboot again)

Do you have an antivirus or antispyware program running when using Poser? How about other programs like Winamp, iTunes, or any other major resource hogs like IE?

I'll check the memory settings when I get home.. But yeah I usually have a lot open. Poser, a couple IEs, sometimes Photoshop, antivirus, ACDSee (image viewer), MSN... I am the multitasking queen. Oh and a couple viruses I can't get rid of =/ After the first problem I closed most everything except MSN, Norton and Poser.

I know my free space on C isn't too much, 10 gugs maybe more but on my G drive where Poser 6 is I have at least 50 gigs free. Hmm. but I am still using all of the runtimes from Poser PP on the C drive. Could that be an issue?

That's why. If I'm going to use poser and I've either loaded up a game or photoshop at some point of the day, I reboot. Then I have nothing else open, save trillian and 1 firefox window open when I do have poser open. Hell, I dont even surf if I'm rendering. It's a memory hog =/

I keep getting out of memory messages in P6 too >_< I did this totally hawt scene and can't get it to render :(

I have a second computer but for some reason X keeps using it =p

And I only get the problems when I try firefly renders.. which I assume use a ton more memory to look so much bettah?
