Hey if they have brazilian jiu jitsu in your area, you should sign her up for that. It will help her defend herself 10x better than karate or whatever. Unless of course you just want her to do something athletic, then whatever!

You know for 5, she's doing pretty good in her class. Its something they offer on base for pretty cheap, twice a week. She's just excited about getting her next belt. I wonder how long she'll keep at it, but yeah pretty much to learn a bit of self defense and stay active.
