whoa exotic pets!

A lady I (up until recently) worked with raises hedgehogs, she's somewhat of a famous person in the hedgehog world I guess LOL .. she was on the Animal Planet pet contest a couple of months back - the hedgehogs lost =\

I was at Petco the other day to get some nip for my kids and saw some millipedes for sale. BLEH ICK ACK UGH! Whoever would want such disgusting ugly things, is beyond me.

Millipedes are generally reptile or amphibian food.

They weren't for sale in the food section though, they were being advertised as pets...

sickness. I would think they missed advetised them!


suprizingly, sugar gliders are easy pets! What did her hedgehogs do on the pet contest? did she juggle them?

I think they ran an obstacle course. But they got nervous and didn't do it very well on tv =\

When we bought our pet mouse, Petsmart had Chinchillas for sale. Those little suckers could hop around like nobodies bidness.

An ex had a racoon at one time and used to raise hedgehogs which are quite cute.

I have a nanday conure. He's not terribly exotic.. he is quite loud though.

Though Malley (Short for Malachite) has been a spoiled indoor cat all his life.

the Fennec Foxes are incredibly cute! i'd like to have one of those!

but i dunno if the two dogs and three cats would like that too much..

I have 2 dogs and 3 cats too!! everyone rips on me for having too many pets. i dun feel so alone now!

Yes, he does though he's more fond of whistling because he can do that loudly. He does occasionally say "Hello" "Skittle" and "Squeaker" (Another bird we had that died :( ) He makes the same little soothing noise to me that I do to him. He immitates the microwave and my treadmill.. chatters along to music, wolf whistles.. coughs ( my ex had a cold for a long time and coughed often and Skittle picked it up.) its cute though it sounds like *ahem ahem* when he does it because its so high. He makes a sound that is sort of like the garage door opening but not quite. He picks up things he hears often which surprises me that he has yet to say "Damn Cat" ;) He also has never said Malley that I've heard but M's would probably be hard for him.

In a contest between aggression the bird wins. I've only seen them get close enough to find out once though. He was sitting on my hand while we watched tv and the cat came to take a look and poked his nose too close..the bird snapped at said sensitive body part and has had little trouble from the cat since then. The noise the bird makes whenever the cat gets too close is generally enough to convince Malley he doesn't want to try again. =D

A guy I used to work with had a friend who got a KANGAROO! I didn't know they were legal to have in the States, but apparently there's a ranch out East somewhere that raises them... He brought into our work to see it...it was about the size of a large baby at the time, and SO CUTE!

Now, when it's six feet tall and jumping the privacy fence, I don't think he'll enjoy it so much, hehe. But still, it was really cool to see a baby roo...really made my day!

Vulash had a roomate that had like 10 chinchillas. They were so cute :)

The lady in the office next door to me has a ranch in west texas and she has a Zebra on there..

Mai, my Caz looks just like your Malley with maybe a tad bit more "weathering" .. i.e. looks like a slightly older version. I have some pictures at home, will post one :)

I think having a racoon would be neat but I hear they are way too smart for their own good and able to get into just about anything.
