Troll tank with helm - WIP
Yes, I have 3 pieces going on at once... well 4 if you count the combined one I still need to do for the cleric and ranger LOL
This one is for a former guildie who didn't want a "nancy boy" background since he's a lean, mean, fighting machine LOL I'm still working on the sword. I don't like that sword model at all. I also still need to texturize the helm to match the armor.

Well, you mentioned the sword which was the big thing that stuck out to me as out of place. The texture on the helmit makes it look more like a leathery football helm than plate, but not being familiar with the 3D world, I wouldn't be able to offer any suggestions on how to fix it. That's really the only things I can see, and even that was really pushing. I like that background, very trolly =)

Yeah no c/c but suggestions for the textures you might go with.
BLOOD, BITS OF FLESH, DARK STAINS!!!! The sword wouldnt even really need to be bright, just stained with massive bouts of war!! Maybe a soft radiating blood red glow! BUAHAHAHA!! I like the texture you used for the armor and the background is nice. Again a suggestion but maybe tint the background like green or a soft red?

I'd add some blue tones to your lighting so he looks like he's "in" the background.

Still in play around mode on this one. Added in the King's Hand sword from RDNA to see how it looks.

Oh i like that sword much better, but maybe blacker =D Did you put the texture on the helm, looks like you did. It looks good just dark.

Hmm, lets see... I'm with Mae on dirtying the sword up some. Cause he's a troll, how well do they really take care of their weapons? Some tarnish would be good. Then I also have to agree with Ryala on the blue tones. In fact, with this background, you could try some back lighting, the light source does seem to be behind him. Possibly he would be casting a shadow over his sword then, which could already make it less shiny and new looking. Adding some shiny to the metal bits of his outfit will also make the sword stand out less, I think.

Since the client had requested 2 magelos (no he couldn't make up his mind on which one he wanted to have so decided to have both done LOL), I went ahead and sent him both of these with text to see which lighting he liked best and if he has an idea for the text. The faint horns you see are the symbol for his RL wife. She plays a dwarven cleric and has always had the helm graphic.
