Need help with WoW farming.

Where to go? I don't have a lot to do except help with quests and start working on making money for my Charger, and Ace of Elementals. I need to make a lot of money. I dropped one of my professions and picked up enchanting again for DE's. So far all I know to do is quick runs through Deadmines...lots of greens for DE. I was told to try SM Graveyard...do you need a key for that? What else can I do to farm money? Pardon my ignorance.

Deadmines will yield horrible money. Yes, you will get lots of stuff to disenchant, but it will only yield low level trash that isn't worth anything. Farming SM is better, but it has never been appealing to me.

I will let you in on a good spot, that you've probably never even heard of before: Deadwind Pass. It's the zone that connects Swamp of Sorrows to Darkshire (or whatever that zone is called). Go to deadwind pass, and near the swamp of sorrows side you will find a path leading south. At first you will see some ogres, which are good to farm. They will yield low 50's items, runecloth, and other goodies. Past the ogres, there is a ruined town with level 58-60 undead, and there are two stairways leading down to two seperate, huge underground areas filled with them. They have good drops, lots of runecloth, potions, etc... I liked farming them, but was a bit turned off by them because they all cast annoying debuffs that made them a pain in the ass. As a paladin, though, you don't have to worry about that at all. As long as you have the DPS to keep up a decent kill rate, you can make a lot here. Another good thing is that you are in the middle of nowhere. Not a big issue on a PvE server, but on my server it is hard to have a nice farming session in a good spot, because you are constantly getting fucked with by chinese farmers on the opposing faction. There's never anyone here, and if there is, there are enough mobs to share.

There is also Silithus. In the northwest corner there are earth and air elementals, which will drop essences of their respected element pretty frequently. These sell well. There are also three camps of 58-60 humanoids in the western half of the zone, which are pretty easy to kill, and drop tons of runecloth and stuff.

You average gold per hour rate might (I don't really know) be lower than at SM, but if you keep at it, eventually you will get a level 55+ Epic, and it will sell for more than you'd ever make in SM.

Also, keep an eye on the AH and look for blues/purples that are cheap, and buy and resell them for a profit. Learn the market and you can make a lot by exploiting it. Example: In my brief time on icecrown, I made about 70g in my 30's just by buying and reselling the charms that the elementals in Arathi drop. People would put up and entire stack for like... 15 silver. I would buy it and resell it at eight for 5 gold, because warriors need exactly 8 of each for a quest. As long as I always bought out the cheap ones, lazy twink warriors would buy my charms and make me rich.

Mining can also make a lot of money, but it is going to be hard to compete with all the farmers who permamine all the resource nodes.

Playing off the AH idea, if you have 2 accounts, you can make a killing transfering items back and forth from Alliance to Horde. Transfer the items in the Gadgetzan AH at a 1sp buyout set on short duration. The only catch is that you have to have both accounts up and running and ready to snatch it up as soon as you put up the auction.

Often certain items will sell for much more on one sider or the other (recipies, arcane crystals, certain blue items), so you can really make a lot of cash doing this. It does require, as I mentioned, 2 unique accounts, and a knowledge of prices to make it work though.

Other than that, I've had decent luck with drops from higher level Satyrs, not to mention getting felcloth and runecloth to sell.

Thank you for the Deadwind pass idea, Jimheim, I'd never been there, but would like to check it out some night.

Oh - and herbalism makes some decent money too. For a while, stacks of kingsblood were going for 8g each because of Thorium Brotherhood faction. Think it's down to 5 or 6g now, though.

Jin,

TY sir! I will check out those areas. I like the undead areas for obvious reasons. Thanks a ton! I have like 50g and had no idea where to make money. Maybe I can get some ppl to go farm the Ace of Elementals card so I can turn that deck in and save money. This Charger quest is going to suck..I can already tell.

Maeya,

Good suggestion there...however I only have one account..and I'm horrible at the market value on items. I don't play enough to know...so I'm forced to ask what things are worth. Sad, I know.

I don't know the value of stuff either... it's my boyfriend who does the dual AH thing. We use my account to help transfer items and he does all the buying/selling work. He makes good gold doing it, but if you aren't really knowledgeable about the prices of items and the demand, you can lose money, too.
