It ultimately makes for better artwork. I had an av in the pixel forum on NS once that I thought was perfect. I figured I had finally found something they would have no crits for back when they still gave good crits but there was plenty of things even on that piece to change, little things but they added up to make a much better finished work when I finally got done with it.

Friend of mine showed me this link http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=54072 - it's quite the eye opener. This is a perfect example of how light c/c (commonly known as fluff) can really ill prepare someone for a harsher more ambitious art board that showcases a more experienced level of artists.
It's painful, beware O_o
