pshop quick and dirty on how to start coloring would be to make your sketch layer into its own layer and flip it to 'multiply' the put a layer under that layer and fill it with a neutral color then make another layer above that to begin coloring,

And learn how to do it in Elements, dangit! I think many of the tools in Elements are the same as PS CS you just don't have as many.
