okok anyways I think a "frount page" would be kewl idea, maybe have some sort of art work of the month, be it writing, photos, 3d whatever... Maybe even have the WTF moment of the week too and possibly have someone try and get intouch with various people and do a little interview type thing /shrug. I love the boards here and the people would love to see even more as well .
The logo contest sound like fun o.O I already had like 3 or 4 things sitting around rofl :(
Future Events - Discussion
So it's a new year. Looking over the past year since Vex and I decided to open up the board into a community, I'd say TAC has had decent success in at least keeping the lot of us interested. Definitely the success of the literary side of TAC can be attributed to Verileah for bringing The Mafia over. I remember when she suggested it I thought, 'who's going to play that other than me? =x ' I'm happy to say that our last game was our biggest yet with 31 players. With the addition of our lit staff, I'd say the literary side of TAC is going strong. We plan on doing an anniversary Mafia here in Feb/March to celebrate exactly 1 year. :wine Here's to many more.
Our art side has fluctuated but with recent members, I feel, revitalizing the art sections we look forward to future events with much enthusiasm. We decided to take it out into the open and possibly plan future events with member input.
In the future we are planning a Logo Contest and a front page design that will be coded, graciously, by Vex. A monetary reward will be part of the prize as well as being featured on the front. That's been in the works for months now, but with fall/winter being the busiest for those in school and with children, it's been tucked nicely away till now. And no, we're not changing our name. :angel
What would YOU like to do here at TAC? What would be an incentive to join in on the events, other than the fun and swapping beautiful artwork? We have quite a few artists on the board so we'd like to see more participation but maybe we're not offering what is interesting to ya'll.

Post here and let us know what tickles your fancy. What you think would be a good idea for TAC members to participate in. We are also entertaining the idea of having Special Guests mods. If you feel inclined to run an event, volunteer and have a go at it. We'll give you access to the special mod sections to plan out your deeds!
As part of staff and the owner, I've always wanted TAC to be a place where anyone would feel comfortable sitting back and kicking some shit. To be not just an adult board, but a mature one. That's why I whore the hell out of the site, because I honestly enjoy seeing my friends make new friends, hang out, do some writing and showing off their art. Having TAC as a fun place to relax at and in the same turn, be a place where they can learn to be better artists, whether it's literary or visually.
Tell us what you'd like to see this coming year. Looking forward to seeing some ideas.

Ok -- sorry, that didn't come out right. I think what I meant to say was, I haven't come up with anything to add or change at this time. Maybe once I've been around a little longer, and get a better feel for things, something will come to me...

I haven't posted anything, really, since I've stopped doing sigs. I think the community here when I joined was mostly that. I'm not sure what to add. I do think of this as an art community, but also just a place to come and BS without all the BS....does that make sense? I brought up a suggestion once, and I completely did not do anything to help it..for that I'm sorry, but I liked the "homework" idea. We pick a subject, and make a piece of art with whatever program you wanted based on the "assignment". ( kind of like what they do at worth.) I think Gilae and a few others were the only ones that did anything, but I thought it was really cool.
I will help think of some things that might be fun for all of the medium involved here at TAC. I appreciate all the work done by you folks here. You've given me a place to visit daily and hang out. :) I have a TAC shirt..maybe we can have another shirt contest where the winner gets put on a shirt or something...ok...maybe not the coolest idea...I'll keep thinking.

A "Pass the Torch" Type art challenge is always fun. For the 3d/poser folks you can list mandatory props/characters that are freebies and have to make the best image fitting a theme for the month. That person chooses the next freebies required...etc. For 2d or trational folks it could just be two things the piece has to have included.
Ok..I will think on more..but I don;t want to be too demanding..although it is my nature////lmao

I have an idea for an exchange / event type deal..
pick a subject or an event with specific details and have everyone create their own version / vision of it and see how differnt they all are..
not being an Artist I'm not sure how much fun that would be, but it just popped in my head so i blurted it out as usuall..

We could do the thing like that have at daz too thats fun, start with a background and add on. Or like they did at NS kinda close, someone started the sketch , the people that signed up to help finish the picture was givin a certin thing to do on the sketch (hair, skin, clothes, misc, background, someone to write a poem or story to go along with the image..) and at the end all the layers where added and placed together to make a completed pice. would be fun too maybe.

We're definitely doing a monthly featured artist on the front page with a little interview =D I think that'll be fun to spotlight and recognize the artists on the board. In conjunction, we could do a lit thing as well, but that's another topic =D
I like the add on piece, which is actually similar to our Worm thingie that Vex started. Ry pointed it out. The entire thing is put together which came out pretty cool, I thought.

You'll have noticed, well if you check it, that Ho Slappin' is now pretty empty, save for Starry's freehand project that she is reviving. All the previous events were moved to 'past events' and the turn in's were stickied. We're going to be implementing some free time projects in Ho Slappin' to pick up the art vibe again.
Expect to see tutorials, more contests with cash prizes and other fun stuffs. Any suggestions, keep 'em coming!

My Art Exchange Idea… Thingy
If you are anything like me, you read a lot. Even if you aren’t like me and you don’t read a lot, you’ve probably read something in your life time so perhaps you can also identify with my little idea. When I read a book I always have a visual image in my head of what my favorite characters look like and as an artist I’ve been know to do a fan art pic from time to time.
So my exchange idea is this:
Each person who signs up posts a descriptive paragraph from a book of a favorite literary character. And also give a little statement about why you like said character. Then we all get assigned someone as per the usual and we do a piece of fan art for each other.
Example:
Queen Andais from LK Hamilton’s Fairy series
Queen Andais sat on her throne, her white skin clean and pure where she’d scrubbed the blood away. Her dress was black and bared her shoulders and arms. Diamonds gleamed in her hair, hiding the metal of the tiara behind the dazzle of their light. A line of diamonds graced her neck and spilled across her chest as if the necklace were a rope or a serpent, caught in midmotion. The diamonds were the only color to her simple black dress and the long gloves that covered her arms and hands. Though perhaps color wasn’t the right word for the effect. It was more as if the jewels bent the light around her head and neck like a halo sliding down her body.
Additional info:
She is known as the Queen of Air and Darkness the ruler of the Unseelie Court.
Her skin appears to have captured the glow of the moon and her hair is a fall of the blackest night. Her eyes are rings of grey.
