The background and text looks great. Its always good to set apart the name with a different color, but I still like how clean it looks.
Touching up more on the armor, especially on the right arm since most everywhere else is bright. Also the hilt of the sword, give it more highlights.
:thumbsup Great job though, Merr. Your sigs are always clean and bright =D

Heya all, I made this sig/magelo for a good friend of mine in guild. I was so happy with the result that I have already sent it to him. CC please for future reference.

I just wanna say that I love the effect on the sword. I still struggle sometimes getting that -just right- look on spell effects and such, but you've nailed it right there!

Thanks for the comments!
I'm just venturing into creating spell effects..getting it too look right seems a lot harder to me then doing the whole char manip lol.

Two things always give me trouble. Started with my screenshot work and of course carries over to my 3d stuff since it's post work. Spell effects and text placement/choice/style. I could spend just as much time getting the text to make me happy as the rest of the entire sig/magelo lol.

I know exactly what you mean. Right now I'm becoming frustrated with backgrounds, followed by text. I want to do more to the backgrounds, add more effects and make them more magical (for lack of a better term) looking. I'm having trouble though, because I have no idea where to begin lol. Hoping to see some tuts from other screenshot artists (or former screenshot artists) on how to achieve more then just a screenshot look for the backgrounds.

I never did that much wtih the backgrounds. Just touched up the color. You don't want your background to be uberific, otherwise it'll pull attention away from the main point of the sig...the person. Text and background should accent, not over power.
