Guild Wars: World Preview Event
The Guild Wars WPE starts this friday and goes through Halloween. Will anyone be playing it? It is basically the start of the Beta, which you can get into by buying the preorder product, but the WPE is free and you can download the client right off of the website and the rest of it streams in.
I played the E3 for Everone event that they had in May, and the game is ultra fun. I have been waiting for a game to play with friends online again and Diablo 2 just doesn't have the magic that it used to.

Yeah, actually I am. I played guild wars during their E3 demo. It seemed like they had a lot of work to do to finish it but what I did see I really liked. I just pretty much stuck to those team vs. team arena duels. Had a blast. I think I'll go get the preorder copy.

Only thing about the actual beta that you get into from preordering the game is that it is scheduled to be the first weekend of every month until the game is released (that is friday thru sunday), but they said that they can add in more beta intervals whenever they want, but it will probably be restricted to the weekends.
Also, when you preorder it, then you get a special in-game item. The item is varied dependant on where you preorder it. The different items can be found here (but the attributes of the item are not specified) in the FAQ of the WPE: http://www.guildwars.com/preview/wpe-faq.html
Also, I would like to play with people from here when this thing gets going. After I make my character, I will post the name on here if anyone wants to contact me.

If anyone is interested, the WPE has started. I will mostly be playing my character named "I Eat Children" which is a warrior/necro or I might change out and play a Ranger/Elementalist.

Wow, the way that ended was really lame. We just got a message saying "The World Preview Event is has now ended." then about 3 minutes later, it booted all of us. They didn't even end it effectively. And this whole time I was expecting some sort of Halloween Event to happen since I had heard stories of what happened in alpha the past 2 years for halloween, and not a damn thing happened.
