Aid us in our quest to perfection! (nudies)

Hello~ I am Generic Artist #233097. I have no preferred media, style (aside from sketchiness due to severe case of lazy,) or subject matter. My work is almost entirely made up of commisions and requests, mainly because I have nary an original thought. I have come to you folk because Ive been told by several sources that this is an excellent place to get good critique and appraisals. So give me an honest opinion chaps, is my work worth anything, and what can I do to fix it?

Well welcome to TAC, Bluemanz. It's nice to see more freehand work here and your work is certainly amazing.

I love the camo feeling of the first one, your lines are busy but I think that really lends to the uniqueness of the piece. Did your client request the oranges? Is this suppose to be a blood elf? I very much like this piece, especially recolored but again I think the orange is very unique.

#2 - is that a robotic skeleton holding a scythe? Very funky cool.

#3 - I am all for boobies. I think your anatomy is very good and your shading is beautiful. People complain about hands a lot but other than maybe a little more detailing on her fingers, I really like the piece and her hair. Shading wise her skin looks good but she could use a little more shading on her skin from her hair and on her shoulders possibly.

Where do you normally post your work? How long have you been doing it? Definitely looking forward to seeing more of your work. Welcome again!

Welcome to teh angry :).

I find it a little surprising to see someone with clear talent who has obviously practiced and cultivated his skill, and wants to continue doing so, saying he has 'nary an original thought'. I understand self depricating humor as well as the next but that comment sparked my interest. Do you want to do more work for yourself? Are you happy doing commissions?

*shrugs* Whatever the answer (and there's certainly no right or wrong), yes, I think your work is worth something and you should keep it up :).

I'm curious to see how each drawing is being used. Right now the first one has an unfinished quality (that appears to be a stylistic decision, though I did wonder why you cut him off where you did) and I'm wondering if it's framed somewhere, or was made into a signature or a wallpaper. The second one looks in need of a border (and there's some leftovers from the scan on the edge, forgive my nitpickyness there) or a frame. The third picture could use a slighty more 'done' background (though I reckon you don't want to go overboard there).

Only other nitpick I have is that on the third image I think the ligament on her neck doesn't go up so much to her ear; should be more toward her chin I believe.

Hope to see more of your work!

thank you for the critique! No, I dont much mind my lack of ideas, at this young stage in my career (im 18) I dont so much need to worry about personal creativity as getting my name around, which commisions are handy for.

I agree that all three pieces seem unfinished, I have a bit of a paranoia about actually completing anything, since the last thing I tried to do that with ended up taking me over a month and it looked terrible.

I have been seriously trying to improve my skills for a year now, and while I dont have a personal page for my gallery, I do have accounts on Elfwood and Mojizu. I also regularly post on the Artwork Critique section in 4Chan.org, but that site is not for the easily offended, or anyone of good taste for that matter.

and to answer Veri's question about the first picture, my high school art teacher sells prints of it from time to time, but other than that it shouldnt be in many places on the net.
