do you have to be a paying subscriber to file planet to get in on this? cause i'd really hate to pay for this crap while i can play EQ2 beta for free

This is my first post here, and I have not yet had a chance to "test the waters" before throwing out an opinionated reply... I hope it goes well :P

This "crap" you refer to.... do you mean subscribing to fileplanet, or "paying for" WoW stress/beta access?

If the former, I can say without a doubt that my 3 year subscription to fileplanet has brought me nothing but joy. Not only do I get invited to every BETA and exclusive demo, without waiting in a line... but I also get access to all the other files.

Everytime a patch or new map comes out for a game my friends and I play, they spend more time looking for a fast transfer rate at various sites than I do downloading the file and enjoying the benefits.

Hehe...I don't want to sound like a PR guy for GameSpy (I hate and refuse to use GSArcade) but... really Fileplanet is worth every penny. I rarely offer such glowing endorsements.

If you meant WoW... I love it too, and you of course would not be paying exclusively for the right to play WoW...'Nuff said.

I'm a little disenchanted thus far. It's not a bad game but in two days of my regular "eq mode", I have two level 20 characters -- an orc warrior and a night elf rogue. Oh well, I will probably continue leveling the rogue and stop the warrior, as the rogue is on a pvp server. Hope the high end game is more fun than some of those monotonous/seemingly meaningless quests in the beginning (Does anyone really run out of food ever? Downtime is about zero with or without haha).
