Imagine today was your 100th birthday....
Just saw a commercial of this retirement stuff and some old lady is 100 years old...
What do you think you'd feel like... thinking of everything that happened in the last 100 years? Invention of the telephone all the way to cell phones smaller than the palm of your hand..
wars, presidents, all the disasters, laws, technology, science, evolution of cultures...

I cannot Imagine life being good at 100. Chances are your signifigant other is dead, your siblings are dead, your friends are dead, possibly some of your children. Your health can't be that great and you're going to deal with daily pains. Poor sight, poor hearing..Kill me if I ever live to be 100

Indeed, I can't imagine that, given that the average American lifespan is 77.6 years, you have quite possibly outlived all your closest loved ones. I can't imagine that rumination over the accomplishments of the past century would make me feel good at all.
You can take your topic and twist it a bit and highlight the significance of the change in the last ten-fifteen years and how quickly things have evolved.

I think you would live with the knowledge that history repeats itself...that nothing is new. And also a lot of regrets of things you wished you did, wished you said, etc. Live life to the fullest kids, that's my motto. 100 goes by in a snap.

I think it will be even more pronounced for any of us that live that long as technology seems to building up speed so to speak.
Think about if this woman had been a sci fi fan - all the stuff of the early 1900s she'd be reading about and from her "imaginary" world she's seeing come to pass, surpassed, or at least gotten close to. I'm only 26 and thinking back to the early 80s we've come a long way from vinyl, cassettes, block metal cars, land phones only, computers, speakers, TVs etc - not to mention social aspects that were once considered one way or another that are totally changed now. Hopefully when we are 100 we don't have major world wars to look back on - would be nice if the current was the last - though very doubtful.

Damnit Tim, do you need someone to make you a sig or what's the story with the photobucket image?

It's his James Bond sig, I think. Mai took it down.

I think it was a previous mafia sig and I had to delete it to make room on photobucket. Really all I have though so it seems to be all the fashion for me - I don't play any games so be kind of hard to make me one. MMM so bland now (and loving it)

My husband (Vex knows him as Zanois from EQ, Maelin server) ...states if he lives past 70 to put him out of his misery since he declares that to be too old o.O
I work in a doctor's office and have seen quite a few patients over 85 who act more spry than some of the freaking 50 year olds @@....I just want to go wow....tell me what you think of life!
Anyhow...I don't picture myself getting that far ( I stress way too easily) but I hope I live to see "THE FUTURE!" ....or at least some of it :)

Im kind of looking forward to getting older and seeing what the future holds for us! Will busting a nut feel the same at 70 as it at 21? Will we be living like the Jetsons? Will there be any basketball player better than Jordan or Lebron or Kobe? Will i still be sexually active? How many kids/grandkids will i have? Will Cuba ever be run by a non communist? Will they ever make Weed legal? What kind of crazy new sports will be invented and played? Will Cloning of humans be legal? Will there ever be a cure for aids/cancer?
These are just some of the things i look forward to learning as i get older.

while the idea of being saggy and wrinkley are far from appealling to me, i'm really curious about this stuff too. They are constantly talking about break-thru's with possible cures for cancer, and reversal of aging. Granted, this stuff would probably be hella expensive, but it'd be really cool. They've made a lot of progress on how to repair injured cells that keep people paralyzed and in comas. Really awesome stuff.
