baby teeth

So Catherine's top front tooth is all wiggly, so wiggly that it almost looks like it's going up INTO her gumline. I just tried tugging on it with a paper towel and I probably could've yanked it out if Catherine didn't realize that pain might be involved. =x

I'm worried though. Is it suppose to be moving around in the gumline like that? I'm not talking about plain ole wiggling, it really looks shorter now, like it's going UP. I'm going to take her to the dentist tomorrow I think. =/

Baby teeth... ahhhh the old days of watching Angle wiggle those suckers and run when I offered to yanks. hahah

By up into the gum do you mean she pushes forward and it moves forward but part of it gets hidden by the gumline? Angel did that all the time. The roots are all but gone and unless the next tooth is right there then yes, it can go up a little. Though that may possibly hurt, since its sometimes a sharp edge thats left after the root is gone.

Hope I made sense there. lol

Oh ok. That makes sense. We have check ups on july 13th, but I might try and schedule her's a little early just in case. Thanks Cali!

No problem! Happy to remember what falling teef were like for Angel. ;)

I am sure that the loose tooth will be out soon for her. Then you get to play tooth fairy!! Wheeee I had a glass lidded jewelry box that I convinced Angel to use, and one time I used gliter lip gloss to make tiny feet prints. hehe Thats the fun part!

Of course now she whines about feeling adult molars coming in, hehe.

Not everyone gets all four, and not everyone needs to get them out anymore. My daughter still has all of hers, of which there were only three.

I only have 2 wisdom teeth. I guess I got lucky. My dentist wants to cut em out, but I'm a poosay, and since they don't hurt yet, I said no. :)

Weird how dentists differ on opinions.
Mine were impacted so they had to come out. My daughter's only occasionally give her issue, apparently she has a bit of skin covering part of them, but when I asked her dentist about removing them he said no, they were viable teeth, and unless they started causing her a lot of pain and grief, no need. My niece goes to a base dentist and he doesnt even ask how she's doing, but suggests she get her's out :P

Well, I guess some dentists actually feel for the patient. =/ I know that with the wisdom teeth being so far back, they can actually get some serious plague build up and start to decay. I guess that's why some just prefer to yank them out. Mine were all sorts of fucked up. One was coming in at a angle, pushing my teeth which would've caused a real fun misalignment, come to find out, another's root was wrapped around some other bone or something.

I had to go twice. Once when I was 19 and in Podunk, New Mexico. A country doctor yanked mine out with a local and a bit of my tooth flew out and hit Mike while he was reading. That was the worst pain ever and it was only one side. He said to schedule an appt in three weeks.

3 years later.

I went to a oral surgeon and he put me out. I didn't feel or remember a thing, other than the IV drip going in. Oh and my mother in law feeding me scrambled eggs or trying to. I kept pushing them away but she threatened not to give me my pain pills if I didn't eat. Still, overall a better experience.

I got a little dry socket, but not nearly as bad as this one bitch I worked with who got all four done in one day AND went back to work. Admittedly, I was happy to see her in pain. Yes, I have already bought my plot of land in hell.

I still have all mine...the dentist suggested I get them pulled because it's whats done but mine don't bother me at all so screw that!

My wee man doesn't have any teeth yet, but he is teething...and biting like a mofo.

...I just realized the irony of calling my son a mofo...

I had mine removed at 16 because one was impacted and my jaw just wasn't big enough to let them grow. If I had, I would have had to have braces.

The tooth going up like that is very normal. Beth's teeth can take up to two months to come out and the longer they are in there the more they do that sinking into the gum thing. Then she wiggles them and they are fine.

The trick to pulling teeth is to tell her you are just going to wiggle it, then put your thumb nail at the very top of the tooth and give a quick down ward yank. It will pop out. She'll be pissed as hell, but the tooth will be out and she'll get to have a popsicle. (give her red, it hides the blood.)
