Yeah.. Sounds just like Best Buy. Reduce the transfers by one or two and you could call it CompUSA also. /shrug

Thats why I ordered my game directly from Sony. They shipped it friday with Second Day Delivery. And now for the CATCH 22.!!! They delivered it to the post office on the second day. Now I have to wait for the freak'n Post Office to deliver the game.

I never buy ANYTHING from Best Buy. I've tried one pre-order with them, and had a very similar experience on release day. They really just don't keep track of new releases, or let their employees know about them. So the only way they know jack shit is if they are gamers themselves and are interested in your particular game, at least interested enough to know when it comes out.

We have a Gamestop in town, but they mostly stock console games so I don't go in there often enough to have an opinion of them. The only people in my town who have any clue about new releases and such is EB Games. They keep an updated whiteboard posting new releases and their dates of release. Plus pretty much everyone who works there is a game geek. I mean WAY geek, they have a PS2, a Xbox, a Gamecube, a Gameboy, a Ngage, and a PC. And they buy games for all of them. Guess they pretty much work to feed their gaming addiction. But anyway, the point is, I only preorder from them, nowadays. And I never preorder anything thats going to have to SHIP to me. No telling when you'll get it.

hahahah.......Now I feel like calling best buy just to harrass them.

Drexen called me up last night cursing pissed about his best buy experience. I went online and found him the closest EB games store near him in CA. He called them and they said they had them in stock but they closed at 7......and it was like 6:59. lol Its always that way when you want something......ya know?

I got mine at Comp USA....the only thing I hate about this Comp USA is that apparently they only have one cashier. No matter when I go in, its the same dude....and everytime you aske him a question he has this glazed over look on his face, like I just asked him if he knew what the square root of 2704 was.

Date of pre-order purchase:

Me- When Do I get to pick up the pre-orders.

Dude - Pick up? (looks at the boxes, trying to figure out what the hell I'm talking about.)

Me- Yeah, these are just the preorder boxes.

Dude- *Glazed lost look*

Me- Ok, we buy the preorder and pick up the game when it gets here...Just need to know when to pick them up.

Dude- Umm I don't know, let me find out for you. (walks a way from the register and finds his manager)

*10 Minutes Pass*

Dude- (returns) Umm...he said either on the 9th or the 10th.

Me- No problem.

Pick up day:

Me- Where do I pick up my pre orders?

Dude- Ummm... (looks around) you can get them right here.

Me- Great.

Dude- (hasnt moved in 3 min) Hang on, I have to go ask my manager.

Me- .....

Dude- (returns after 5 minutes) He said I have to go get it out of the back.

Me- Ok ( I proceed to follow him towards the back...but then stop at the wireless routers)

I look up and he is on the other side of the store now with 2 other , what look to be managerial staff members. After watching the 3 of them pace up and down the game wall for another 5 minutes, I decide to go over to them. It seems as though they did not get in the cd rom versions yet and it took them a total of about 15 minutes to tell me they only had DVD versions, and that if I wanted the CD version it would be any day before they showed.

When My internet connection gets hooked up next week, I'll actually get to try this thing out. :)

What do you expect for $7.50/hr for hired help (in some states less). CompUSA is usually very very good about getting a solid stock of new release games on the day they come out. Worst case scenerio is the day after. The way to do it, is walk in after 12 in the afternoon, and head over to the game section. Game shipments arrive between 8-11am at most CompUSA's.

That and I never shop at BestBuy. I have had to deal with their associates, and managers one too many times. My feet will not grace their door again, I would rather pay more somewhere else then go there.

I preordered EQ 2 through a local comp shop in the mall. On the day it came out I called to make sure they had it in and they said "Oh we only got the DVD install in, the CD install won't be in until Thursday."

...

So I called Best Buy. They said "Yeah we have it."

Went to the local shop, got my $52 back, went to Best Buy. The sticker on the box said $49.99, same price as the other place. Rang up for $39.99. No, I didn't say anything :razz

So it sucked to have to drive around for a bit, but I saved $10.

I gotta say even though I dont get near as much time as I used to, you can still accomplish stuff in WoW in very little time, which I like. Little cartoony, but most of the cities look really, really good. so far overall I do like WoW better then eq2
