I'm not a expert but when I want to reformat I do as follows:

1. Stick in windows disk.
2. Wait for screen to say "press button to run from disk" (you may have you change you're booting priorities to boot from cd first) then press a button.
3. follow instructions from there.

This may be common knowledge and not help at all. If not sorry. :p

Please note, formatting C: will cause you to lose ALL UNBACKED UP DATA.

So this is what I did. then I tried to verify the product key.

Well you know I have a dell XP product key.

I have a XP home product key.

I have a OEM product key.

But hey ... I was using the windows home edition XP 2002. I have have no fucking clue where the product key is for that.

Now the machine is telling me that my copy is invalid. and give me aphone number to call. I call it and I am talking to a fucking robot. At least I could talk to india or someone who barely speaks engloish right?

No I cant get a pulse. The computer tellls me I need to buy a key for $99.00. I am like "I have given so much damn money to your company in the last few years I don't owe you shit."

but there is no one I can tell this too.

So I spend all night last night cleaning through boxes till 2 AM till I find this damn code key.

AND what do you know .. I cant even peal the sticker off the packaging and put it on the side of the computer.

SO yeah any way the computer workds great not. No copy of old EQ. SO I guess that idea is dead. Jake turned it his coins for $57.00 and he bought BF2 special forces and NWN platinum eddition. I am not sure how hard it is to explain NWN to a 4 year old but its going to be a test in patience. Kind like when triad started to absorb the smaller guilds to stay afloat and we had to teacht hem how to raid.

Boy I am glad I wasn't a cleric then.

But yeah the hard drive is not cuttered. It had two coppies of all its programs on it. and I always had two copies of EQ.. so 4 EQs is alot of space.
