Slow paced. Lots of unexplained crap. They never really said how the hell they got into the biosphere spaceship thing. Wouldn't bother seeing it again unless a girl wanted to. I saw it in the theater with my sister in Seattle. We had a hard time taking the movie seriously. Visually, it was impressive. Obviously they left it vague to seem transcendental and deep, but it really doesn't work out that way. She and I evidently were thinking along the same lines.
Izzi: It's all done except the last chapter. I want you to help me. Finish it.

Camera pans over empty page under a Chapter 12 heading.

Me: Rocks fall.
Sis: Everybody dies.
Yes, we're nerds. We admit it.
Tomas drips sap from the Tree of Life onto the ground, causing flowers to bloom immediately. He then smears some sap on a possibly mortal wound in his gut, causing it to heal before his eyes. Upon seeing this, he drinks the sap directly from the Tree of Life.

Sis (being stupid): ...and then a flower grows out of his stomach.

Tomas attempts to put on the Queen's ring, but falls over in pain. The wound on his belly churns à la Aliens chestbusters, then erupts with flowers as he screams.

Sis: Oops.
Me: That was so your fault.

Personally I saw the biosphere as the last chapter of the book. I like weird movies though that leave alot to personal interpretation. I also LOVED Brazil.

Before I saw it, I was told it was supposed to be three incarnations of the couple in three different eras. Taking that into account, I just figured the biosphere was their future counterparts' journey.
