The "Go" on the top line on my arm is all the way back on my tricep, so you can't see it in the picture. Getting the cross and wings done over my shoulder, wrapping onto my chest and back, in 2 weeks... gonna be 4 hours in the chair for cross&wings. and 300 bucks... Not bad for a first tattoo.

Ouch! The wings and cross are cool

Very nice! And its a sentiment that you won't be embarrassed about 10 years down the road. A big bonus over placing "Winona Forever" or something similar on yourself. Its good to see people who've given their tattoo art some thought.

It took me 6 months to really get the writing, wings, cross, and location I wanted it at decided. I came up with it when I was still at fort benning going through Infantry preping to go sf. The line is a quote from Tupac of all people, but it's got a very real meaning to me. I got it partially as a tribute to my friends who are still Infantry, and a tribute to all the people that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, past, present, and future. I checked my myspace earlier today and got an interesting message..

It is the SOLDIER, not the preacher,
Who has given us freedom of religion,
It is the SOLDIER, not the reporter,Who has given us freedom of the press,
It is the SOLDIER,not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech,
It is the SOLDIER, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us freedom to assemble,
It is the SOLDIER, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial,
It is the SOLDIER, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote,
It is the SOLDIER,
Who salutes the FLAG,
Who serves under the FLAG,
Whose coffin is draped by the FLAG,
Who allows the protestor to BURN THE FLAG!!!

All I ask is that everyone who reads this, sit back and actually think about all the freedoms we have as Americans and who paid the ultimate price(DEATH) to uphold these freedoms!!! Until you serve your country, you will never fully understand the life of a SOLDIER. This is one thing one must actually do in order to fully understand everything about why he/she serves and the hardships they endure during peace time and combat. Forever is the memory of loseing a fallen comrade. The images of combat will forever be etched in SOLDIERS mind and all the events leading up to and after the fact!!!

Just some food for thought.

And Roz, tat's dont really hurt much, the ONLY spot that hurt was right on the back side of my tricep, that hurt like hell.

Peace, chow time.
