Breakfast

It is one of the most important meals of the day, and so I'm sitting here eating my cream of wheat and wondering what you folks eat for breakfast.

I alternate between oatmeal (with cinnamon, splenda and heart smart butter), cream of wheat (see oatmeal add ins) and Cheerios with skim milk. I generally drink either hot chocolate (Hershey's good night kisses because it's caffine free) or Green tea (Stash white and green tea blend with just a dab of honey)

I'm worried about my cholesterol levels so I try to eat the heart healthy foods.

At work, every morning, I stop at Wawa - the local ubiquitous convenience store - and get one of three things:

-Sausage gravy on white toast (because I'm allergic to buttermilk biscuits)
-Sausage patty on english muffin w/ egg and cheese (and sometimes I get tomato put on)
- 1/4 lb of tuna salad and a banana.

At home, breakfast usually consists of cold leftovers or a bowl of cereal.

breakfast? I hardly ever eat it... I'm rarely hungry before 10:30. But, if a vendor brings me in kolaches or donuts I will have some, or if I actually get hungry like I skipped / had an early dinner or something.. I usually have a SouthBeach cereal bar or snack bar. Those things are seriously yummy, and calorie and sugar wise they aren't bad for you like say a normal granola bar which can be as sugar ridden as a candy bar. Oh and I love cereal when I am at home but hardly ever have any around since X hates it . I could eat that nut & grain mix from Kashi (I forget the name) every day it's so yummy.

Weekends we go out for breakfast on Saturdays, Sundays I usually make eggs and bacon. Weekdays I have breakfast when I get to work after getting my sugar free mocha on the way. My breakfast at work is either oatmeal, cereal, or breakfast taquitos.

Cholesterol is one thing I don't have any problems with, so I just watch the sugar in things and try to get either sugar free, and use sweet and low on my cereals, or I get low sugar cereal.

Oatmeal with splenda, nuts and dried fruit. This weeks is almost gone and it contains oats of course, soy nut pieces, almond slivers, cranberries and rasins. I think I will try raisins with something else next time. Not sure what though. haha I make this up myself in a gallon zip lock bag and scoop some out at work, add water and microwave 30 seconds. Cheap, easy and filling.

My weakness is bagels. I get them toasted with earth balance margarine on them. But I love love love a fried tofu, soy cheese and tomato sammich on a bagel. Yum. I try to avoid it.

On the weekends I rarely eat before noon.

Don't get up early enough anymore to eat breakfast in the morning. So breakfast for me is anytime... especially after checking what's in the fridge. French toast, bagel w/light cream cheese or oatmeal mostly.

A big fat mug of french roast coffee with lots of sugar and french vanilla creamer on the way to work. Then, at work, depending on if I am in a room with older kids or infants, I eat whatever the kids are having for breakfast that day as well, Mondays are always cereal and bananas, the rest of the week varies. Always some sort of fruit with some sort of bread and milk.

I haven't gone to the store yet so I'm out currently but I was eating the Special K breakfast bars. There is almost never milk in the house so buying cereal is something of a wasted effort unless I want to eat it dry.

Oatmeal when I get to work. On the weekends, some Egg Beaters, turkey bacon, grits, low sugar OJ, wheat english muffin. Sometimes no sugar blueberry muffins.

Coffee and cereal or coffee and a bagel. This is usually when I choose to sit and have breakfast with Sheila.

If I have to jump right into work, just coffee.
