Oh my god it is SO CHEESY. I can't even express to you how 'kidified' this movie is. Within 5 minutes of the movie starting we had our first turn to each other, rolling eye look - there were about 100 more of these looks to follow. Even the ending...oh dear god SO CHEESY but the CGI was pretty kick ass.

My hubby took the kids to see this yesterday, and they totally loved it. So yeah, I guess its a kid flick. Hubby didn't like it, but he doesn't like any of these kind of movies :)

Oh and if anyone stayed for after the credits - let me know what I missed. Veb refused to wait, even with Catherine and I both yelling that we hate going to the movies with him because he doesn't let us get overly buttered popcorn and sit through the credits for the secret ending.

PM it to me!

EDIT - I went googling - apparently there is nothing after the credits, only the short scene right before the credits roll. Also Lawrence Fishbourne was the voice of the Silver Surfer...hottttt!

I have to admit, I've read quite a few of these threads about movies based on comic books, and everyone has the same opinion--they're cheesy. Ghost Rider was cheesy, FF was cheesy--yeah, of course they're cheesy--they're movies based on old comic books! Even if they have been updated, the storylines are based on the old storylines!

FF was awesome. I like a movie that has me laughing in a good way. The humor was clean, which I enjoy in a comedy more than anything else. Most comedies, in my opinion, suck because the humor is for the lowest common denominator. The humor in FF was classically funny, imo.

My only problem with FF, and it's so minor it's hardly worth mentioning, but the only thing I did not like about the movie was the fact that they did not actually show Galactus. That, in my opinion, would have been awesome! What you saw at the end, if you don't know about the comics, was not really Galactus, so that sucked.

But FF was good. Probably the best comic book movie since, hmm...Ghost Rider. :)

And "At World's End" rocked as a pirate movie. They just don't make pirate movies nowadays, let alone GOOD pirate movies! There should be more pirate movies!

It was good and entertaining. Was nice to sit with 6 yr old and watch it and it not have to be a cartoon. I thought it was about the same as the first one and was just as I expected.

Batman Begins was based on a comic book and it was FAR from cheesy. I prefer my comic book movies to be dark, painful and without a glimmer of hope.

Good times.
