Grindhouse

Okay some of yah may not like this movie, but just for the fact it was a double feature with really crazy made up previews. I have to admit this was pretty sick and twisted on the humor and action. So yeah I liked it cause I am kind of like that >_>

If anything I am getting the movie when it comes out on DVD so I can just have a bad movie night and have this and some others from my collection and watch this with beer vision on.

I want to see it, totally out of curiosity, but because I detest Tarantino, I'll wait and see it on video. I'm about 90% sure I'm not going to like it.

Now keep in mind this is a joint venture with Robert and I can honestly say his part is great.

I agree, Tarantino is an asshole but his movies fucking rock. They're hilarious, bloody and addictive. I'm looking forward to seeing it, looks hilariously cheesy.

I don't like the whole concept of trying to make a film that is both a cheesy cult movie and commercially successful. It's like cheating :\. It's like 'the man' trying to join you in your basement smoking weed on the weekend, just -wrong-, dude.

The fact that Robert Rodriguez is connected to the film is the second reason why I want to see it...the first being Kurt Russell. However, considering the Tarantino connection, I'll still wait for dvd.

lol Kurt in this was great. However just look for Nicolas Cage in the movie when you get it on dvd. Totally random but funny ^_^

" It's like 'the man' trying to join you in your basement smoking weed on the weekend, just -wrong-, dude." You know my "family member that must not be named" ?!!

In a world of comformity and remakes... Grindhouse and 300 were breaths of fresh air. Crazy, wacky, socially unacceptable movies are what I grew up on. My father had a large collection of exploit films which I got into (without his knowledge)... shh.

This movie has also sparked some sort of odd debate about how long movies are getting these days. Apparently the average movie length is up over 2 hours now, where it was only an hour and forty minutes a few years ago. The "experts" are claiming this is driving away moviegoers who apparently can't sit still for the extra 30 minutes.

LOL - if I ever have a problem with a movie, it's not that I can't sit still, it's that I fall asleep! :P

but would they count this as two movies since it was a double feature?

>_> Now I am curious

It's only one movie, set up to appear as two. You pay one price for it at the theater, and you'll pay one price for it on dvd. A true double feature would be sold as such.

You can't tell a good story in 1 hr 30 mins anymore. Granted kid movies are getting longer - The Incredibles was 1 hr 55 mins which is uber long for a kid but I thought told a complete story. Catherine and I went and saw that 3 times at the theatre.

Take Battlefield Earth - an incredible book but a horrible movie squeezed into like 1 hr 45mins. Then you look at Lord of the Rings 3 - great movie but it could've ended 20 minutes earlier. I'll sit through a 2 hr+ movie though, I know I'm getting a more detailed movie for my money.

I've seen a few movies that were definetly too long (ultraviolet comes to mind - I really thought that was NEVER gonna end!) but others that I felt cheated at an hour 30. If the movie is well made, well acted and well told, I can sit through it for up to 3 hours (I have no prob sitting through the extended versions of all three LOTR for example...). If it's crap, an hour is too long...

I just wish Disney would put out a good movie (and I'm not talking Pixar here - they have yet to put out a truly bad one!), but Disney hasn't had a movie since the mid 90's I've even bothered to buy on DVD... and that's sad.

Yeah, but Ultraviolet was gawdawful, that's why it seemed like it would never end. It was only 90 minutes long!

Hey .. nothing is as bad as Blood Ryne [sp?]
It was based off the vidoe game and I almost cried in the first 10 mins of it. We couldnt even make it to the orgy part cause it was so bad.. T_T

....... i liked UltraViolet and Blood Rayne *ducks*

Seriously I PREFER longer movies, I wanna get my money's worth if I'm paying eight freaking bucks EACH to see a flick. I want a full, detailed and rich story. 90 mins can;t cut it.
