Mistress Clys Nex'Cruor -- revisited

One of my more interesting characters is Mistress Clys. She's been through a number of transformations. I'm considering writing her into a storyline in EQ2 (she began life, or rather, undeath, as a WoW character). So I got to wondering what she'd look like as a half-elf, probably a necro. And while I was goofing around with a Vicky 4 head in ZBrush, experimenting with making morphs, I got this face. It seemed to fit her perfectly.

Anyway, V4, Sherriwyn Hair, some freebie earring, and um, V4 fantasy collar with Gala mat. I used the MINT V4 skin mats, with some changes I made. True to Life eye mats, again, with changes by me. Actually I did a lot of fiddling with the materials in this image. Rendered in Poser7, composited in Photoshop CS3.

Zoinks - well she is evil looking without looking haggish, which is refreshing. A beautiful woman with an evil heart - definitely what you're getting there.

Are those shadows on her cheeks or is that part of the skin texture? Either way I like the harshness of the shadows there and under her nose. The sneer is extreme but again it lends to the evil, ugly feel of her. The skin on her throat looks a little dirty but that's probably the shadows - what min shading rate did you render this at? I do 0 now for high detail per Vex's rec, but yeah I'd like to know your settings on this.

It has a painted feel, the hair looks a little washed out - I might have run the burn over it and worked on the highlights/shadows a little. Loving that background though, very cool. Overall I really like it, Janthin. Good feel and composition!

Thanks for sharing =D

They are shadows, on the cheeks and neck, yah. Poser 7 doesn't seem to have a min shading rate thingy anymore. I used the 'final' settings for the firefly renderer, with cached irradiance set to 99, and ambient occlusion on and set to .5 strength, 1 raytrace bounce. The shadows are a bit gunky in some places, like the neck, not as smooth as I wanted them. But the overall effect works, so... I decided it was good enough.

I know what you mean about the hair -- I'm still considering doing something to make it more lifelike.

Thanks as always for the CC.
